No "funday" for me. Gotta go out to the office to chat about a possible upcoming assignment . . . could be "production support" for a few months . . .which might actually be OK since I've heard I can do it remotely (i.e. I can stay at home). This might actually be good for when/if the hubster arrives and I am doing this assignment instead of flying off to Hong Kong like I was this past summer. Insha'allah, the hubster will be arriving soon . . . .

Happy Monday!!!!!!!! Hope you all have a good one.

Jess, cheer up, I know how hard these goodbyes are for you. At least this time you know your departure date. Last time, you spent nearly 2 weeks not knowing which day would be your last in Lebanon. I wish there was something I could do to help you. All I have to give is my time and emotional support.

What is everyone's plans for today? I am cleaning house because we have company coming this week!

awww...the first few weeks will be the hardest I imagine. But we do what we have to do. It doesn't require special strength, just the ability to move on one day at a time. You can do it too. (F)

Happy Monday everyone (if Monday can be happy that is!)

I'm tired but as someone else mentioned, 3 day work week!!!

Also, the business owners where I work are gone all week which is really nice. Everyone can get some work done. Well, as much work as one does during a holiday week. :D:P

My son is off on a 3/4 day cruise to Mexico with his father, paternal grandmother, stepmother and stepbrother. I worry but insha'Allah he'll be fine and have fun. :)

Allah tries his chosen people through many hardships, but those who persevere through adversity, surrendering themselves before the will of Allah, shall be blessed with a superb reward.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.

-Qur'an, Al-Infitar, Surah 82:1-5

Good morning everyone. You know Hachemi and I live in a very rural area of Mississippi. No cool restaurants with middle eastern or north african influence. For the last couple of months one of the downtown stores was being remodeled. Sometime we would walk by and look in and their were beautiful murals being painted on the walls. Last week they had the furniture in and the windows painted with the name of the restaurant, "The Oasis." Very elegant looking for our little town of 2000 people. Anyway, we went last night and they were playing arabic style music. Come to fine out the owner is Tunisian. We ate couscous and had baklava for desert. We told the waitress we wanted both orders in the same plate. She looked at us so funny. She went back to the kitchen and told the owner how we ordered. He said I knew they must have been North African, so he brought our order out himself and sat down and talked to us. It was really nice.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Wow, Meriem, so nice for you two that you have a new ME place in town to eat . . . I think it makes a big difference when you can get out of the house and go sit somewhere else to hear music and eat some good food. I hope the baklava was good! :P

Nothing much fun here. DH and I had a pretty good weekend. We signed up for a membership at the YMCA that will start December 1. In order to get the discount through our insurance company, we need to go 12 times a month, so I'll be forced to exercise of face the consquences.

We watched Bithday Girl, and of course, I thought of VJ  Not really realistic, but another visamovie to add to the collection, next to Green Card. Anyone else have more international marriage/mail order bride/visa movies that are worth watching?

10/14/05 - married AbuS in the US lovehusband.gif

02/23/08 - Filed for removal of conditions.

Sometime in 2008 - Received 10 year GC. Almost done with USCIS for life inshaAllah! Huzzah!

12/07/08 - Adopted the fuzzy feline love of my life, my Squeaky baby th_catcrazy.gif

02/23/09 - Apply for citizenship

06/15/09 - Citizenship interview

07/15/09 - Citizenship ceremony. Alhamdulilah, the US now has another american muslim!
