Hi, I've got my interview in London next week, and am just wondering...

My husband completed the I-864, and he makes more money than the poverty guidelines, so do I need to take any evidence to show the money I have in bank accounts? We did not claim it on the I-864 as he makes enough money, but is that satisfactory? I have read on here about people bringing letters from the bank ,but do I need to do that?

Thanks

On the I-864 you meet the poverty requirements on either the US citizens salary (with or without a co-sponsor) or through joint assets which would have included any savings. If you used salary and your spouse makes more than the poverty guidelines then I wouldnt worry...

However if it puts your mind at rest why not take the information.. although im sure you wont need it.

Good luck !

Oh and please can you update your timeline

Another consideration, use form I-864EZ, if you notice, that form only uses, income, and no assets are listed, the rule with these forms is dont give them more than they need. The more information volunteered, the more questions they may ask.

I-864EZ only requires past year IRS return (Copy of 1040, W2, and any 1099) Optional are Letter from employer, 3 years returns, and pay stubs. You can supply IRS Transcripts they are free from the IRS. http://www.irs.gov/faqs/faq1-6.html

Even the government prefers that you keep the financial evidence to a minimum, that is why they provided the I-864EZ.
