Wow a lot of money right there. I hope you have both been saving.

It's good you have managed to find a school for the kids at least now it's a lot easier for them since they will be communicating with the kids. This will ease them in to the US shool life. Big change for them but I am sure they will be fine. Kids learn to adapt better than we adults.

Is there no way you can transfer your licence so you don't have to go through the whole thing again. Surely you should be able to drive for the 90 days while you transition right? Georgia will allow that if I had already held a licence but since I don't i got to wait to be driven around when he finishes work till I get my own licence and car.

We are looking for apartments right now. He just got a agent looking for us since his tendency ends in feb and I don't want to continue living where he is right now. I was contemplating renting a house rather thn a apartment. I think that would give us more space and extra bedrooms or the same price as a apartment. We shall see how it goes. We are also looking for a new car since he drives a two seater truck right now. I don't know where I would put all my ####### since the truck is small. We looking for a people carrier which would give me plenty space for all my junk lol.

I must say the time is flying by so much to do in such little time.

Yes, we have been saving.. I have quite alot saved already, but will be almost broke by the time AOS is paid for LOL.

I think the kids will do well adapting. My children and I have been thru so much already and a new begnning will certainly take off some of the pressures of being in Australia.Let's just say that after 4yrs, the kids and I are still suffering from the childrens father, but we are survivors good.gif

I dont feel confident in driving once I arrive there. I will if I have too, but my fiance drives and technically I could drive for the first 90 days or so.. I think Australians can drive over there for 12 months or until residency, but WA doesn't allow the change over of Australian licences, I gotta start from square 1.

A house will def allow more room than a unit, but it all comes down to what suits you all better and what is affordable.

And I do agree, the time is flying by and yet so much to do. This whole process can take years, but the hardest part is being separated from our loved ones. Once in US, we can support each other together. It's so much harder over skype etc as the hugs just dont feel right thru a webcam cray5ol.gif

Yes your right. A new beginning is a breath of fresh air for all of US. I am sure your kids will welcome this.

Yes being broke wont be funny for a whie. Since we got to wait for work authorisation that's why am takeing up couponing lol.

At the moment getting my daughter together to send heron her merry way to university in a few weeks. So it will just be me and the little one at home. But we soon be off ourself at Christmas .

When we get to Georgia I plan to get my driving done then sit down and check what nursing jobs out there and what will suit the hours I want to work and when work authorisation arrives I would hopefully have secured a job.

Any news on approval yet? Whats happening with the numbers around your case? Not seeing many approvals at Vermont seems California is wiping the floor with Vermont right now. Did you see the post someone got approved in 19 days. That must be the quickest approval ever. Those waiting since last year and beginning of the year can't be too chuffed right now. But hey kudos to those that are lucky enough to get their approvals early and congratulations to them. I say it's the luck of the draw. Depends on who is efficiently getting through their pile of cases.

Hope you hear something this week coming.

Except for the fact that anything to do with the US Govt. is closed today due to Labor Day. So we will probably not hear any further news from anyone until tomorrow now.

That's very true Ryan. That's why I got the post office to send my letter today to arrive tomorrow rather than deliver to the embassy today since no ones there to sign for it.

Yep I doubt anyone will hear anything till tomorrow.

Question, I have a EAC #, and late May filer. I noticed the # before me was approved today o_0

Now does that mean I am next, or is it likely to be soon as in the same batch, or is it completely random ?

Here's a few forms you should be downloading while waiting.

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-134.pdf

http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/82063.pdf

https://evisaforms.state.gov/ds156.asp

http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/81807.pdf

Call dos or NVC but dos is less holding time. They will both give you the same information. I got mine from dos.

Number for dos is 2026631225 press 1 then press 0

NVC numer is 6033340700

When you get your case number in 2-3 weeks log on to the CEAC website and track your file till it gets to your consulate. Here is the link for the CEAC site. https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?

Just type in your case number that NVC gives you there and it will bring up a box with your case details.

Hope it helps congrats again

Thanks Nurseling!

If I understand the process correctly, by calling the DoS or NVC I will be able to get my case number instead of having to wait weeks for everything to be sent to the consulate in Naples?

The U.S. consulate - Naples appears more relaxed on it's rules. The Immigration Visa (IV) department sent me the packet 3 information in June after I asked them what documents we could complete in advance. And according to the instruction they gave me, once we have the case number we just fax them DS-230 part I and the signed "application statement" and they'll then schedule us for an appointment.

Seemingly easy, no? We'll see as I e-mailed them Friday afternoon to make sure. :P I don't want any more delays or RFEs!

Typically if someone in your batch is getting worked on you could expect yours to be worked on as well, but it is truly a random process.

Lol Lux I think your done with the rfes. You won't get none at this point.

That's great they sent you the forms. Some insulates do things slightly different. So follow the instructions thy have given you and fill out the forms and fax as they have stated.

Regarding case number. It takes 2- 3 weeks to generate one. Bunch of people still waiting a month even more. Since your not a transfer it probably will be 2-3 weeks. After case number your file gets sent to Naples.

You van call either NVC or dos. The waiting time is too painful for NVC that's why after 1 hour on hold I didn't bother the next time. I started calling dos who only keep you on hold for about 2 mins. They will have access to the same information as NVC. So they can give you your case number.
