Give who the #?

I dont understand what's the point of waiting a week or 8 days after the releasing of my case #... is that ONLY to schedule the interview online? If so, is there a reason to DELAY paying for the K-1 Visa? How long is it good for after I pay for it? Bec she has no yet received my post NOA2-docs and we are not yet ready to schedule the interview (waiting for police certificate from foreign country & NOA2 docs)....

I would suggest reading the Philippine thread I believe a member called hank can enlighten you more about how you should move forward now.

I already have my police certificate, immunisation records and just waiting on my evidence of financial support which

is on its way to me. I will be schedule isn't my medical appointment tomorrow. Currently a two weeks waiting time to get a appointment so by that time NVC would have already send my file to London.

What I noticed was different about this time round when I called Dos was that thy asked for the name of the petitioner and beneficiary before they told me it was sent to NVC this morning then they gave me the case number. In the past when I called them they never asked they just say no its not at NVC yet.

Yes! That's exactly right... he also asked for my email & her email.... so will they be sending us the case #? What confuses me is that earlier they emailed me back (NVC@state.gov) and told me they could not help me with my case! Then I read Nurseling's comment and voila! we both get our case #'s at the same time, and yes, 3 wks is EXACTLY how long it took!

I told them to email me the case info and he said he didn't know how long it could take for me to get the entire case report. "Chuck" also said that they are doing the basic administrative procedures currently before my case gets sent off to the embassy. Things are rocking and rolling!!

Ok so here's how to check your case number on the CEAC website. Similar process to the reciept number except you type in the case number that NVC or dos has given you. The number beginning with LNDxxxxxxxxxx. Since mine is London it starts with LND followed by 10 digit number.where it says visa application type leave it as immigrant visa. Where it says case number type in your LND or your MNL number and you will be able to see your case status.

Just checked mine and it says my case is still at NVC. At least it's a good way to keep track of your file.

Yes I believe it is 3 weeks so call either Friday or both Friday and Monday.one of those two day you should have gotten your case number.

Your fiance is right some of the NVC employees cAn be rude depends who's haveing a bad day when you call them. This is why I prefer to call dos they are always polite there.

When I called last week they only asked for my EAC number then said no case number. When I called today they asked for my EAC number then asked for the name of the petitioner and beneficiary. So you instantly know they have received the file when they ask for names.

I would suggest calling Friday and Monday if its not ready on Friday. This time don't waste your energy holding on the phone for a hour before someone pics up. Better to cal dos its quicker to speak to someone there. I only held for 2 mins.

2/14/2014 (day18) biometric appt letter arrived in the mail. Appt schedualled for 2/26/2014 11.00am.

2/18/2014 (day 22) biometrics successful walkin.

4/01/2014 faxed expedite supporting documents to number on letter sent to me. Waiting waiting waiting

4/03/2014 (68 days) EAD and AP approved text message sent status post decision. Hooray !!!

4/7/2014 (72 days ) status change to card in production for EAD.

4/10/2014 ( 75 days) status changed after calling uscis regarding urgency of EAD. Also usps tracking number at 20.580pm

Update on our case..
We have our hardcopy RFE and it was for exactly what we had been expecting. Divorce decrees. My fiance did send them a copy of his final divorce, but like we had been expecting, they want decrees from all 3 marriages that he has terminated. (He married very young and it didn't work out too well).
And for those of you who are worried about red flags due to age, please dont. My fiance is 30+ yrs older than me (hense why all the prior marriages), and things are progressing quite well. I may get questioned at interview, but i'll be ready to answer those.
Sounds like things re moving nicely for most here.
Congrats to those who are taking the next step with case numbers and I wish NOA2 to come quickly to those who haven't heard anything yet. Please dont give up.

"Your case is ready for you to schedule an interview at the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal"

We got this when checking the CEAC case status posted before. However, we were supposed to be processed at Vancouver, not Montreal. Vancouver is where my fiance lives.

The notice I received from the NVC said it would be processed at the Vancouver consulate, and listed the appropriate Vancouver address. We've been waiting anxiously for the first packet from the consulate since getting this notice on August 1st. Nothing yet.

Who should we contact about this to clarify? The DOS, the NVC, the Montreal Consulate? So far the Vancouver consulate has only said they have not yet received our case.
