RFE!!! Just got the email!! I think I know what it is - I had all the docs translated but didn't get the hotel and atm receipt translated. At least they're looking at our file, so yay, sort of!!!

Oh I see! So it only estimates it up to the NOA2 date...... okay.

Can someone tell me where to go to put my USCIS Receipt # and and back up x # to see how far they are before the NVC gets to mine?

I'd still like to know where to put my USCIS Receipt # to search for where they are on the list though............. Nurseling i think u were telling me something about that before... thanks!!

You may or may not get a email from uscis when it is forwarded to NVC. You can also keep checking your case status to see if there's a message there. To be honest your better off calling them yourself regularly to get your case number. I also wouldn't pay too much attention to the 8 weeks info they give you still call.

Thanks Nurseling,

But I really do remember someone saying something about inputting our receipt # somewhere, then replacing the last 3 digits and subtracting it by 100, and playing around that way for them to see what case they are currently on... does anyone know how to do this? For example, my last 5 #'s are 10084, so I would search 9084 and start going up (or down) depending on where they're at. Because doesn't USCIS go in numerical order when they send cases to NVC?

Surely someone here knows this method of checking how close they are to someones...

This is what we all do before we are approved. Just to check what numbers are being approved or given rfe. This just helps those not approved yet kind of see if they are getting close to being approved.

We check on the uscis website their is a section you can type your reciept number in and it will pull up your case statu. Since your already approved your case status should say post decision.

This is a example of what you would typically see.

Please note. The timeline is a estimate of when a case is due to be adjucated to receive the approval which is the Noa2. Timeline does not indicate when visa is to be issued. That is something that will spend on how quick or how slow your file gets forwarded to you consulate and how quick or slow you get your documents together and medical and interview done. The change of timeline pertains to those who are still awaiting their noa2. Hope that helps you to understand. Furthermore there is no way to find out unless you call NVC if you have been assigned a Case number at such short notice. you were approved on the 29th july it will take atleast 2 weeks if not more for your case to be forwarded to nvc and probably a few more weeks for nvc to send to your consulate. the only thing you can do at this point is to wait and call them every week to see if your case has been assigned a case number. Currently they say 8 weeks also bare in mind that it could take up to 8 weeks.

Some people receive within a few weeks others receive in a month all depends.

If you have already received your NOA2, you have to wait to receive a letter or some sort of notification from NVC for the next number that's being sent to your consulate. Try calling NVC but it may be to soon.

Hi everyone!

So I just found about this amazing site and forum and im so excited about it!!

Im a may filer as well we got our noa1 on may 22.

So this morning I checked my case status except that this time this is the message I got

At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case. Please contact the NCSC 1 (800) 375-5283 for additional information

Anyone knows why? Could it possibly be because my status is changing(hopefully fingers crossed).
