I can't say how much this site (and this particular thread) has helped me feel less stressed and more supported! My fiance and I are quite lucky, as we are only about a 6.5 hour drive from one another (he lives in New Hampshire and I live in Ottawa Canada), so we visit at least once a month. Regardless, this is still stressful because I feel like my life is split in two! I hope we all have a positive experience with our i-129F petitions. My most recent notice on the USCIS site is May 20th, saying my alien registration number has been changed. Fingers crossed, for all of us! <3

On the topic of transfers to TSC.. I'm of two minds. Yes, it means the petition may get approved faster. But then if their recent actions (judging by some of the threads in the Service Centers forum) are anything to go by, they'll keep the bloody thing back or send it back to VSC, who then send it back to TSC before going to NVC at a snail's pace. Not to mention the fact that on June 13th all those RFEs from TSC were overruled by someone higher up the chain of command and switched to approvals.. yeah. Not too sure about all of it!

But we'll just have to wait and see. I have other things to do like plan a 6-week trip to see Amy for Thanksgiving and the Holidays.. plan the wedding (which is coming along nicely) and recover from this blasted surgery.

Got some bad news recently. :( We might have to cancel our petition. My mom might have cancer. We're currently waiting on further testing and to learn about options, but I'm not sure I could take the 4 months or whatever away from Canada that the K1 requires. So sad and stressed, unsure what will happen.

It was suggested in another thread to cancel and get married, then refile for CR-1, but I am so reluctant with CSC getting close to May filers now. It would be months until we could get married, then we'd have to wait like 10 more for the other visa to be approved... :\

So sorry to hear about your mom. It must be very difficult not knowing for sure and my heart goes out to you. My fiancee had cancer years ago but after 2 years of chemo and radiation she's been cancer free for 20 years. Try to remain positive and not think the worst.

Our NOA1 date is just 1 day after yours and our petition is at CSC also. I've estimated that we could start seeing approvals in the next month or two and then another few weeks to make it's way to the embassy - I think there are ways to delay things (for a few weeks anyway) after it gets to the embassy and then you could wait as long as 6 months until you actually use the visa. Would hate to see you guys have to wait almost a year again if you go the other route. My prayers for you and your family.

After changing the last digits on the USCIS case status tool to get a feeling of where we are at, I noticed that a May filer who is in the same batch as those who received their A# on May 15th was approved yesterday, July 14th.

I'm a May 16th A# so.....we'll see...

Were they also at Vermont though? If so, then keep your fingers crossed that this may be a good sign of something to come.

Unfortunately there is no way to see if they were at VSC or CSC. And considering the majority of people who apply aren't on VJ, Igor's List may not be useful to see which service center the petition was at.

Yes. Lets face it there's no order so it could be anyone's file getting approved at this point.

The rfe I saw i

On someone's file is still sitting there even though the person has sent a reply back.

Thank you. We appreciate your prayers and kind words. Hopefully my mom's story can end up as amazing as your fiancee's!

That's exactly what I've been thinking. It seems sooo close. We probably would have the NOA2 before we would even be able to get married, let alone refile with the CR-1. It also seems to make the whole idea of facing my mom's possible cancer battle seem so much harder if I have to be apart from my fiance for that much longer. We all know how sad and stressful the distance is on it's own...

I wish you and your fiancee the best and, hopefully, a quick approval. :)
