Watch your CEAC status. If it changes to Administrative Processing then it means they're working on it. Even better, if it goes to Issued then that means your visa's been printed and put in the passport.

Alright, well for now it says to schedule an interview at the Montreal Consulate, which I know I don't need to do since i've already had my interview... just have to wait to see the status change to know they are looking at the file, or as you say, have issued the visa. That would be a miracle! Seeing as they only received the Affadavit + evidence today, I have a feeling it'll take a little while to get a status update.

Fingers crossed!

Thanks for the info, Wheatley!

It could just be computer glitches, or something might be happening with our file at the consulate.

Yesterday I was logging onto the CEAC website to see if there was any status changes (either AP or a quick approval, but AP would have been the likelier of the two). There was no status update to be had, though the CEAC website did say I was ready to schedule an interview at the consulate. Obviously, I've already had the interview so I disregarded that.

Today I log on to see if there's an status updates, and there is none -- but when I log on with my VAC number, I don't actually log in but the following appears when I click 'submit':

Application Error
An unexpected error has occurred while processing your previous request. The error has been reported to the site administrator; no further action is required.
I am not sure if this means anything or not -- I am hoping it means they are changing my visa status, of course! Or else this is just an unfortunately fluke that is making my heart excited for no apparent reason... either way, I know the consulate has what they need so I continue to wait :)

I'm not panicked, I just had a glimmer of hope that maybe they were already working on our file in Vancouver.

I guess you're probably trying to bump up your interview date if possible?

Sorry for bringing your hopes down. You will be issued soon.

I did email the Embassy, but since there are 4 of us applying for visas (myself and 3 children), we need 4 appointments times. The chances of getting an earlier date with 4 slots available is going to be hard, so I have kept the 28th. It was easier to do that and book flights to Sydney as that is only 2 days after Australia day and Sydney will be massively crowded so better to book flights now than later. It costs me 700$ AUD just for the return flights. Not to mention the $1056 for the visa fee. This process will have cost me $3719 after our interview. AOS will be fun.. NOT LOL

Yeah.. CEAC is generic, a catch-all for all the different visa types. Stick to looking for what I said:

1) Your "Case Updated" field changes - that means they've logged the affidavit.

2) A status change to AP - That means it's all finished up and they're just doing some last checks.

3) A status changed to Issued - Visa's printed, in the passport and on its way to the courier.

Thankfully though, Loomis seems to be working for you as far as taking in documents. DX Secure over here in the UK is messing someone around about taking his documents and passport in (despite the fact the Embassy has said they're to be used for this) and keep telling him they don't do it. Nearly at my wits end since London changed their bloody procedures..

Atleast the CEAC is back up and running. When I log in it still says "Ready" to book an interview at the consulate. Yep, still not looking at the documents or logging the affidavit. Oh well!

Right after the interview, ours changed from Ready to Administrative Processing. We sent the required paperwork and then it took sbout 2 1/2 weeks for another change. At that times it went back to Ready. It stayed there for about half the day and then the message under Ready changed and the case creation date changed. The next day it went back to Admimistrative Processing for two days and then it said Issued. It was in his hands two days later. For us, I overnighted required info from Michigan to Brazil. It was so stressful, I lost 7 pounds because I was so anxious that I culdn't eat due to nausea. Haha. He had the visa in his hands 3 weeks to the day after his interview. It's been about three weeks since the visa arrived and he's flying out next Wednesday!!!! Just have faith. You'll be getting the visa very soon!

Know the feeling, this is also my last weekend without Amy as I'm flying this Friday. With the time shifts and all, I'm basically going to be awake a full 24 hours again.. but so, so worth it.
