My fiancée received letter of approval via mail. We were approval on the 17th of Oct. My question is when does she get the hard copy NOA2 in the mail and when are we suppose to get the case number? When are they sending her the original documents she submitted? Any useful information will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi godsrule

The noa2 can take a few weeks to arrive if you font see It in 4 weeks call uscis. Also regarding the i129f forms and documents we sent in when we filed initially. We don't actually get those things back it goes in a sealed envelope that is delivered to you after you have had your interview with your embassy in Nigeria along with your passport with the visa stamp in. The instruction they give us is that we Re not to open this envelope and that we are to hand the envelope to immigration officers at the port of entry in the US. The documents you filed are inside that envelope along with your medical report and whatever information they have on file for you. Once you hand this over in the US it goes back to USCIS to form part of your Adjustment odf status (AOS) when you file for your green card.

Her citizenship certificate and others they are originals how does she get those back? Are they going to send them to me as packet 3? She wants to know how she is going to get those back. The thing about original documents I doubt you will get it back. That's why they say give copies of evidence when you initially file and then take the original with you to the interview so they can verify. The only thing I can suggest is that when the interview happens that your fiancé request the originals back at the nigerian us consulate at the time of the interview or you won't see those originals again. For future reference never send originals unless they request it or you won't get it back. I hope your able to get them back.

Congratulations to the new approvals!!! I love reading about them. I'm so happy for thos eof you who are booking your flights and getting teh approvals. It gives me hope. It makes me look forward to our day!!

My fiance and I are holding out on contacting anyone right now for the interview date but it's hard. We called NVC the day it said ready but they said that we have to contact the embassy. I'm being told that packet 3 is taking forever to arrive for everyone. Another girl who's about a week ahead of us got her interview date a little over a week ago over the phone and she still has not received packet 3. Her interview isn't until December. I expect my fiance's will be pushed back to January because of Christmas and the New Year but I am still hoping he gets lucky. Maybe he'll be with me before his birthday on February 13. I've been on here looking at timelines and the ones in Brazil seem to be no less than two weeks, usually longer but most people do not put when they get packet 3 in their timeline. I'm so afraid to "annoy" the embassy by constantly asking about the date so I test my patience and I am waiting. My fiance is getting very anxious. He can't find his vaccination records. He has medical records but nothing on vaccinations. We were researching with the link that is on the CEAC site where it says READY and we can't find any tips on how to obtain them or what happens if you don't have them. I posted a thread asking about it yesterday and have a few answers bt still confused. He's also leaving his job. He is a private teacher and wants to leave almost immediately after the approval. He wants to give his students as much notice as possible. Does anyone know how long it takes before we can get him approval to work here? We plan to apply for AOS as quickly as possible. I hear it's taking 3-6 months. I kinda feel bad about that because he loves to be busy and I will have to continue working while he does nothing. He is a guitarist/musician so maybe he'll take that time to write some great music.

I need help with my affidavit of support. I have a letter from my employer stating that I am contracted and make 30,000 a year. I only have $4, 500 saved in the bank. Is this enough or do I need to have more money saved. I was in the peace corps for the last 2 years and my taxes won't help. Any advice would be appreciated. We scheduled our interview for November 11, 2013!!!!!! It's so close I just hope this is enough proof of financial support.

And just to let you know even though I took tax forms letter of employment pay stubs. All they took from me was the letter of employment at my interview in London. But it is still good to have all just incase.

I was wondering, how long did it take for you to receive Packet 3 from the Embassy? Our file arrived at the embassy (according to CEAC) about a week ago. I just feel like each step of this process there is always a delay and a wait, but I am hoping we don't have to wait too long for Packet 3!

Also, who receives Packet 3, is it the petitioner (US Citizen) or the fiancee of US Citizen? If we are going through a lawyer, would she receive it?
