Yes thats right! No need to fill-up various forms, just the DS-160

so we don't need the DS-157? I thought DS-160 replaced every form except DS-157. Also, we need the W-2 from our jobs and not the tax return that was filed with the IRS? I don't keep the W-2 after my tax return is filed and accepted ;(

woohoooo.. please keep us posted on your interview. We are all excited to hear from you!

Congrats!! nice to hear good news like this!

Hey Nurselling,

Your headache could be thru worry and stress. Easy for me to say not having interveiw yet, but you'll be fine. Try not to worry. Keep us updated please.

Just try to remember that they have most likely already made up their minds as to if you are approved or not by the time you get there. Just have all your documents ready should they ask for them.

I did get a letter from a doctor. Never seen her before, but she wrote a brief history and has pretty much said, that speaking to me, she doesn't believe that I am any risk to myself or others.

My medical is scheduled for tomorrow. 7hrs of driving to get there. So it's going to be a big day. I'm nervous also, but should be fine.

You are so right about the stress lol. Anyway the way I see it now is no need to be stressed . If it doesn't kill you it only makes you stronger. Plus only god is my interviewer not any human being and only god can approve or deny me all depends on what he plans for my future. My headache has gone. Positive thoughts now.

You will do just fine with your medical positive thoughts. So glad you managed to get the letter fro the doctor.

I will keep you updated. Do let us know how your medical went.

There another girl from the VJ forum going tomorrow so we decided to look for each other tomorrow give each other support. Positive thoughts everyone :) :)

. Hope you get your file in time for your interview. Fingers crossed for you. :)

Good luck to both of you! I think that the anxiety is normal. My fiancee has been feeling pretty nervous. He keeps going over the possible interview questions. He keeps asking what he needs for the interview, what he needs for the medical, and we haven't even got the packet in the mail yet. I am being told that Rio is taking until December which I am still hoping is wrong but I was told we'd get our interview date if we call this week. Until then we are praying for sooner than later! I just want im to get on that plane and come be with me. Relax, I am sure you are gonna do great! Lots of luck! I can't wait to hear how it goes!

Thank you bamellis sounds like your almost ready to do your interview too. I will pray when you call them they have a date for you. Congrats on approval.

Congrats. The light is shining brightly. Good going.

We had our medicals today. A small fortune later. And I think it went ok. My son needs a vaccine that is not in Australia, but needed for the USA and my eldest daughter hasn't got any chicken pox vaccine records. So we need to get them done and send thru a certificate saying that have been done and our medicals will be complete.

And just as we were arriving in Melbourne, I got a skype message from my fiance to say that he has packet 3. Doh. It didn't even get sent to me, but he did forward a copy to me.

But anyway.. Good to hear some people getting good news. Keep your heads high.. I'm going to put my head low on the pillow for some sleep.

Well wishes to everyone

Hooray we were approved our visa today at the interview. Thank god. Ithe visa will be sent In about 10 days I was told. Got up really early around 5.00 to get ready. It was rainy today and silly me left my umbrella behind. Luckily when I got to the que there was a girl in front of me that was going for a visitors visa who was kind enough to share her umbrella with me.

The embassy was packed full of people all going for diffent visas. It's funny the k1 visa didn't move as quick as the other visas. AnY way after 40 mins of waiting I finally got called up to counter number 1. The lady was a nice Asian lady. She asked me for my interview letter and my number. Then asked me for my police cert and my 2 passport pics. Then my birth certificate. I gave her all of the stuff she asked. She then said where is your daughter. I had to explain again that she didn't come cos she won't be joining me till summer. So she said ok but make sure she joined you in the summer cos the K2 visa has a 1 year limit after that they won't allow her to join again. She said can I fill out the forms for her now so she can make a folder for her for when she comes to interview in June. Luckily I carried all the info of her school etc with me so was able to fill out the ds157 and 156. I handed it back to her and she then told m to put my finger on the screen for finger prints. After that was done she took my passport. And asked for my visa receipt of payment and the courier recipt. She took my passport of me then put it in somekind of plasticky see through folder then gave me my x-Ray film from my medical said I can keep that. She told me o go sit down and wait and someone will call me in for the interview. I sat down for another 15 minutes then my number flashed up on the screen I front again. I went to counter 16 and saw a lovely African American lady who proceeded to tell me to swear that everything was the truth. After I swore she asked me a few questions.

First was how did we meet

When did we meet

How did the relationship progress

Have I been to see him

Have I met his family

Where did we meet again

She kept trying to confuse me cos even though I told her Georgia she said a few times was that in Florida.

She asked when he proposed

When do I plan to go

Then after that she said I am happy to tell you your visa is approved. It will take about 10 days to be couriered to you. When you get the white plastic envelope inside there will be sealed envelope this is what you need to give them at the port of entry in Georgia . Congratulations and good luck with the future. She even printed out all the information that my daughter needs for when she has her interview I.e evidence she needs to bring.

That was my experience happy it is all over and done. On to the next phase which is finding ticket to fly in December it's been a journey I must say. All those still waiting don't worry they really are nice at the embassy and it's just a formality cos they already know they will be giving you a visa. If they didn't they would grill you with more questions. In my interview I never got many she just repeated the same ones twice.

Hope all waiting that filed in may have a good experience too. I will let you guys know once the visa arrives by courier. Thanks everyone for the support really appreciate it and am so glad I have been able to meet such nice people here on the visa journey site.:) :) :)
