Hi May filers. Just to update you, I had my Day1 medical exam today. I finished early but was asked to go back tomorrow for the result. I really wish there's no problem with the medical. I had a fellow May filer who was asked to come back at 1:30pm. I wonder what's the difference between our result. I just hope both our medical results are ok.

Hi godsrule

Wondered about you a few days ago since we have not seen you here for a while.

Happy to hear your approved now. Congratulations

The next step is for your fiancée to get the hard copy of the noa2 in the post. Meanwhile your file will be sent to NVC in due time. Give NVC a call in a few weeks and see if they have a case number for you. If they do schedual your medical with the case number. Then NVC once the have a case number generated will send your file to Nigeria and the us embassy in Nigeria will contact you on paying the visa fee. Make sure you read the nigerian forum as they have a lot of information there on what bank the money needs to be paid etc.

Glad your back

Oh just so your aware godsrule since your with California it's currently taking more than the standard two to three weeks for a case number so don't be worried if it's up to 8 weeks. Just so your aware they send the files in batches. It's cost affective for them that way.

Thank you very much Nurselling for the information. I am with VSC transferred to TSC so I guess I will be good to go soon. Please can you tell me which forms I need to fill and also what form my fiancée need to fill too? How many weeks. Does she have to wait before calling NVC for case number? How about your journey so far? Any interview date yet?

I'm excited to tell everyone that my fiance had her interview this morning and was approved after just a few minutes of interviewing! :)

She was asked only how we met. And the case officer actually said she has been waiting to meet my fiance as the case officer has been having quite a long conversation via e-mail with me since July. :P I guess my constant bothering helped! haha

Now that the hard part is over we just need to plan the wedding! good.gif

Best of luck to my fellow May filers with your upcoming interviews! Hang in there everyone!

I know my post technically falls under the NVC Forum, but it is not as active as the May 2013 Filers forum, so I wanted to post it here to get a greater number of responses.

Hello VJers,

A little background on us and our case:

We hired an immigration lawyer to help us navigate the K-1 visa process. As we are not her only client (!!) it has come to my suspicion that things are not moving as quickly as they could. You see, we waited 44 days for our case to be sent from CSC to the NVC -- and it wasn't until I called the NVC that I got our case number last Friday; our lawyer hasn't yet received a hard-copy notice of the NVC receiving our case.

When I called, I only got the case number and did not ask for a receipt number. Apparently we need both, according to our lawyer, before we can move forward. Since we are paying the lawyer the big bucks, I know I should let her do her job, but I also have a burning desite to be my own advocate to get the ball rolling. My lawyer advised me that I should not be contacting the NVC for the receipt number (?).

So my question for you all is:

When did you find out your receipt #? Did you need your receipt # to book your interview at your local embassy?

Thank you in advance for all of your advice --- I am so thankful for a forum like this, where we can join together and be a support for one another!!

xo

Sabrina

Note: Someone mentioned that I could check the status of our case at the embassy/consulate with only the case number -- if you know this to be true, can somebody tell me where I can find this out?
