Wohooo our case just got the the US embassy in Sydney today and our NVC statis changed from in transit to Ready. :DGot my police check, medical apt next Tuesday and i have filled out the DS 156 so far.Nearly there!

Just to update everyone, we got our NVC Case number today. Upon checking, it states "AT NVC". 11 days after NOA2.

Where did you "check"? On the USCIS website? I guess I'll be calling the NVC tomorrow... I hope to get our (my) case number soon!!

Call NVC get your case number and your invoice I'd number then you can log on to the CEAC website to see if your case is still at NVC or intransit to your consulate.

I checked the CEAC website. After I logged in using the NVC number they gave me over the phone, the "AT NVC" status appeared. We called last Friday, they told us to wait for 8 weeks. We called again Monday and we were told it was received but no case number yet and told to wait for 4 weeks. But still, we called Tuesday 11:30pm EDT, we got our case number. The previous suggestions were correct, best time to call is almost closing. 11pm-12 EDT.

Thank you Ozgirl. I am really excited. I really hope that you get your case number soon. I can't imagine how hard that wait must be but hang in there because once you get that number, it should be all relatively quick in the process from then on. Fingers crossed you get it before your medical! I will let you know how my medical goes next week. Had to request a day off work to get it done. I still need to go get my passport photos for it too.

So I just got off the phone from calling the NVC. Waited 20 minutes on the line (not automated) to speak to an actual representative. Her name was Rose.

Drumroll, please..........

........

........

........

NVC not yet received. So annoying! We are now waiting 42 days. All things considered, we should be hearing this week if timelines are correct. But who knows at this point.

Hi, congrats for the progress :) One question, what does it mean when your status says READY in ceac? Have you got your packet 3 from the embassy? And can we set medical appointment without packet 3 instructions?

You can set your medical before packet 3 instructions are sent to you. You can either download packet 3 from here up on top where it says download on this site or wait for your consulate to send you packet 3 instructions.

The satus ready means your file has been received by your consulate and they will contact you in due time.

Still nothing this end too. sad.png I got medical in 12 days... maybe I should reschedule or call the dr to find out if i can do medical without case number. Finding an appointment times for 4 medicals in one is hard to do.. I have myself and 3 children to do medicals.

My file in NVC says "IN TRANSIT" and an interview date was provided (I haven't received notice though as to when). Can I already schedule my medical? thanks!

This is standard they say that in everyone's. It's a error which they should have fixed by now. K1 applicants are not provided with interviews by NVC the consulate does the interview scheduling. I wouldn't pay too much attention to that message. Wait for your file to say ready then schedular your medical.

Hang in there... I just called DOS after 35 of waiting.. See how you go in the next 5 days and if no case number call and reschedule the medical. They won't allow you to do a medical without a case number. They worry your medical and file will get lost if there's no case number. It's best to get it first.

Thank you nurseling, so what letter I will have to show for medical exam if I didnt want to wait packet 3 from embassy? Is it the copy of NoA2 enough for this? Thanks.
