Hi everyone! We submitted the DS-260 form and Applicant's Signature over the weekend and I e-mailed the consulate saying that we have completed these steps necessary for scheduling the interview and I simply asked them, if possible, to schedule our interview as soon as possible. I just woke up and received a response of our interview and medical being scheduled for the 15th and 16th of October! :D

Do any of my fellow May filers have any advice on the interview part?

And I didn't think about it until reading the last page, but I really do hope that the possible Government shutdown doesn't cause any more delays for any of us!

Your best bet for advice Lux is to go and read the Embassy Reviews for Naples. You'll be able to get a lot of information from them.

To be honest Lux the whole system is so slow. We are still waiting on a interview date in London. They have a 6-8 week backlog. If the goverment does shut down we are probably looking at a longer time frame.

Read some of the embassy specific interviews pertaining to your country from those that have already done there interviews. That way it will help you prepare yourself.

Let us know how it goes, at this rate I might not be leavening in December as planned.

lol Ryan you just took word out of my mouth.

To be honest Ryan London embassy is beginning to bug me. They really are so slow and they have poor contact.

I know Nurseling. Nich-Nick's been on to them about the fact they have no instructions on how to do DS-260 (or how to log in to it) and they took 12 days to get back to her - and it seems the information they gave is wrong. Now she's trying to get back on to them to sort it out. Amy's going to ring DOS or the NVC today and see what the news is.

Okay, ours isn't at NVC just yet. Will get Amy to ring again next week (due to the possibility of shutdown).

Hi all!

Does anyone have the number for DOS? Sorry, I just can't seem to find it.

Also, for those of you calling DOS and NVC -- has anyone *asked* them about how the shutdown will affect them? I live in DC and fortunately work for one of the contractors that won't be affected by a shutdown (unless it's prolonged...) but all of the news outlets IN DC are saying that visa processes will stop / slow while all the news outlets outside of DC are saying that visa processes will continue because they are funded by their own fees. Not sure who is correct. I also read that US embassies will be open to US citizen services only. I'd like to think that K-1 interviews are a part of that but I'd like to know what you all experience in your communications with the embassies?

Also. I'm a bit of a pessimist (some say realist). Sorry for that. I just kind of think there will be a shut down.

Anyway.

I'm going to try to ask the operators about it but I wondered if anyone else had already done that :)

Yeah the DS-260 was a bit confusing and I'm currently confused with regards to paying the $240 fee. It's not that the payment website they now have set up is confusing, but the consulate in Naples is referring to our visa as an Immigrant Visa, but the K-1 is a Non-immigrant, correct? This may not be that big of a deal except it does ask you to select Immigrant or Non-Immigrant Visa at step #1 when paying the fee...so...better safe than sorry. Now waiting for Naples to clarify this.

Regarding the DS-260, what parts exactly do you find confusing? We thought the initial instructions were confusing as they spoke about non electronically and electronically sending the forms, but once your click "sign and submit" everything is automatically forwarded electronically anyways.

You know I was already pissed at House Republicans at the potential of a Government shutdown but if this does happen and it delays all of our visas then I'm going to be really steamed! dry.png

Yes I saw that Nich-Nick wrote to them but it sounded like who ever answered the mail was confusing k1 with I-130. I can't say these people even know what they are on about. Seems they are a little confused too.its like the blind leading the blind lol.

To be honest from what I understand k1 cases have their own funding I.e us that pay for the service so it may not affect approvals if the I-129 filing weather or not it will affect people once we get to the embassy interview stage I don't know. NVC is a key player in this whole thing and limited staffing is going to be a certainty so there is where the backlogs will occurs since they are a contracted company by the DOS. We can only keep fingers crossed it won't happen. The Dos number you seek is 2024857600 press 1 then press 0 to speak to a visa specialist. Let us know what they say.

Are there any Moroccan May petitioners? The embassy in Casa received our paperwork on 9/3 and we haven't received the packet yet. I'm just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat.
