What is the process from here on? This is very exciting!

At this point we start calling the Department of State from Friday I reckon to see if we can get our case numbers (mine is my LND number, yours will be the Embassy/Consulate in Australia where your stuff is going to) and invoice numbers.

Could someone explain the importance of knowing the invoice #?

You need it to complete DS-260 (which replaced DS-230 Part I on Sept 1st). You can get it from NVC/DOS. Note that if you got your Packet 3 instructions BEFORE September 1st, you don't need to complete DS-260.

Wow! Congratulations to those who recently got their NOA2! I hope I get mine soon. They just received my response to the RFE. I really wish it wont take too long for them to approve me.

uhmm this is my NOA2 hardcopy, do i really have to file Form I-824 (Application for Action on an Approved Application or Petition) to request that USCIS notify another consulate of the petition approval for visa processing purposes??? You guys filed this form as well? I'm worried.....

Yes that is your NOA2 hardcopy.. And No, you dont need to do the I-824. And if you do that, you will incur a $405 fee to request duplicate copy. Sit back now and wait to contact the NVC for your case number.

received my I-797, Notice of Action in the mail stating that my petition was forwarded to the consulate. I'm guess it still has to go to NVC/DOS 1st. It expires 1/18/2014 so hopefully I get my CEAC and invoice/receipt number quickly.I have already filled out the paperwork months ago just waiting to send and book my flight to JA for the interview

Thanks Ryan&Amy! I'll let my fiance know to start calling this Friday! I guess we ask for our case number right? I'll start filling out the main forms this weekend too.

I think we also need an Invoice number too..

Ask for the case number (we will be SYD) and Invoice number for DS-260 (which replaces the DS-230). My fiance is calling again tomorrow to see if our case number is in. 3 calls so far and nothing I was hoping to get medicals done while my 3 children are on school holidays
