The mother knew the boy was playing with the gun, saw him playing with the gun. thought nothing of her five year old playing with the gun. then wandered off leaving the boy alone playing with the gun in the company of a two year old.

All the markings of a winner! JFC!

That's good.

At least you didn't own a gun when you were five. Do you remember everything when you were five? Do you your right from wrong when you were five?

MSNBC now has a front page article about age and firearms...that didn't take long.

I'll admit I never had anything more than a pellet gun until I was 12 or so before starting on a .22 I was about 16 when I fired a shotgun for the first time.
