Why did you file a K-1 over a CR-1?

We decided on K1 because I wanted my fiance' to meet my family before getting married. The K1 and marriage seems about the same to me as it relates to the processing time. However, a huge myth is that marriage means approval and it does not my dear. Many CR-1 visas are denied as well. Our K1 was approved in Ghana in Jan 2013 and our "saving grace" was God and lots of evidence to support the petition. I truly believe it's as simple as what works best for you.

God bless you on this journey!
