Hello everyone.

I am new to this thread. I went through almost all the quotes in here but still I am confused. Sorry if I missed my possible answer at some point.

I became PR on October 2008. After that I visited my country 2 times - first time I stayed there for 3 months and second time I stayed there for 2 1/2 months. Total 5-1/2 months. So can I file N400 on July 2013 i.e. 90 days before I complete the 5 yrs of my residency OR NOT???? or Do I need to add my total 5-1/2 months in July 2013 which will be then Jan 2014 to be eligible to file N400???? because in first part of this thread it is said I have to count an every single day. So???

Hello everyone.

Happy Tuesday everyone,

My biometrics has been done today in Chicago. I reached there at 11:55am, my appointment was at 12:00pm. The receptionist asked me to turn off my cell phone, checked my Green Card and gave me a form to fill in with my details like DOB, Weight, Height, hair and eye color etc. I completed and he checked and gave me a number and asked to wait until that number is called upon.

I waited for 5 mins and then I got my turn. I went in, they showed me the computer screen to read and check if all my information is accurate, like my DOB, Address etc. After that they took my finger prints and then a pic :) Later he handed over a guide for Naturalizations Test and said there is a CD also with that book , I asked is that free and he smiled and said YES for you its free :)

how nice :)

That's it.....all in all it took me 15 mins. When I got back to my car it was 12:17pm CT. Thanks everyone for your support and good luck to you all.

Just got text and email notifying that they sent my bio appointment letter today... Hopefully I will be able to do early biometrics on 06/12 (if the original appointment is after that date), because getting off work is pretty hectic. :)

Hubby went in for his bio appt today :) everything went well. But it took a while bc apparently there were a lot of people. He got there at 12:45 for his 1pm appt and left around 1:40 ...

So now we wait for the interview letter and hopefully no RFE's!! Yay

Good luck to all, dealing with USCIS is never easy if your not prepared but it is well worth it at the end.. I'm January Filer and we still have few people in process.. to give you an idea, we have 37 people in January Filers, 17 people already got their US citizenship (that's almost 46%), 15 people are in the last leg of the journey (waiting for oath ceremony or already been scheduled for one) (that's almost 41%), few abandoned the thread, 2 failed the interview and 1 reached the 90 days mark with no status update/change.

How fast your case moves really depends on your location, some might be lucky and some might not. Average processing time for all states is 5 months but that doesn't meant your case might drag you as far as 5 months but that's is common.. I have seen people who received their citizenship after 9 months (this usually happens when you got arrest/charged/felony record). The fastest we had in our thread was 3 months and few days. Hopefully I will get my US citizenship few days shy of the 5 months.

Most painful in my experience is the waiting.. and the waiting and the waiting.. don't we just want to get this done? ranting33va.gif
