Getting ready for the interview going over everything.

Can anyone who has done the interview please post what the written sentence was & also what they had to read?

My husband is Dyslexic which I did mention on the application that he may need help, he attended a specialist school for high IQ dyslexics but is still very bad & I am concerned now about how he will cope with the reading & written part of the interview?

Any help or advice appreciated?

Have a look at February, March and April filers on this site, most of those have had their interviews and many list the sentence they had to read and write. It is things like reading: Where does the President live and writing The President lives in the Whitehouse, but there are many different ones. Can he take his papers from his special school to the interview or have a doctor write a certificate saying he suffers from dyslexia? If the interview is a while away I would get that information and make an appointment at info pass because he probably should have been written as a disability on the application.

Hope all goes well! :)

Tell him to tell the interviewer at the time of his interview that he has that condition so that to put the interviewer on notice both in person and on the app. And tell your husband to take his time to answer. When is the interview? My husband goes in on Monday and I'm so nervous for him bc his English is still not that perfect :(

Can I just complain a little: I find it annoying that we have to prepare yet another set of copies with originals if applicable of the same things we sent for the naturalization app to the interview.

I get bringing originals but why do I need to accompany that with another set of copies (per their letter)

Ok I'm done complaining! Yay for his interview... Hoping it goes well tomorrow.

All I have been asked to bring is my drivers license but I am applying for length of time served as a PR not because of marriage and have been in the states for nearly 10 years but I hear you. I must say that I have never had a problem with anything immigration related but it has always been stressful and the information they ask for is sometimes bordering on hideous amounts. I don't understand all the copying re: marriage stuff, It is like they don't trust the tax folks or people that marry you or their own citizens, supplying tax info (which I can do easily) just tells me they are scared their own system doesn't work. IF you got your greencard because you married a US citizen they have seen it all before and hopefully checked it out well enough to give you a greencard to start with. Then again I don't think people marry just to get a greencard nowadays like they did in the past but that could be because I have trouble believing people would go to that extent to live in america - that is just me though lol

I just know that the first cold day this fall I will be lighting up the fire using all my immigration stuff that is filed away :)

Thanks for the replies I have a letter from the specialist school plus all his old school reports from that school.

He is also trying his best with the reading & writing but at 31 you can not expect much change if you are Dyslexic it is for life, they generally figure another way around a problem. He has no problem with the test questions as he has a way to remember things.

I am not sure if a Dr could confirm Dyslexia?

I am just praying for a sympathetic interviewer & we did put it on the forms that he would require help, he obviously speaks English but writing & reading are very difficult.

I will look at the other interview questions from Mar & Feb as well to help him, it is nerve wracking!

If you have told them he may require help I am sure he will be fine :) You can stop worrying now. I think his conversation will prove he has a grasp on the language .... keep us updated :)

1. You have a US Representative for where you are. This site will guide you http://www.fyi.legis.state.tx.us/mnuAddress.aspx

2. If they ask for a Birth Certificate you will need to have one (should have a copy from sending in for PR)

3. Go to your local police department or a bank and ask to have the copy signed by a notorary public, they will need to see the original so they can verify it is a true copy of the original document. (I would be taking the original too - just in case)

4. I have no idea on this one, to my knowledge no you don't BUT I have mine to take just in case. The SS card gets changed after you become a citizen at the SS office (our responsibility to have that changed)

Thanks Kanga for your prompt response. it is very helpful :)

For#2, i never submitted my husband's birth certificate, all i sent earlier was his passport photocopy, that's why i was wondering.

Then I am not sure - I had to submit birth certificate.

With the representatives - make sure you get the name of the US rep - not your state rep smile.png

thanks, yes i found Janice D. Schakowsky (cant pronounce her last name) as our US Representative, i live in zip code 60053. Thanks again.
