Right, but the "fix it" part does not always require Big Daddy Govco. Sex ed and safe sex practices should start at home. Parents are failing miserably at this.

a pamphlet or a signed statment from a pharmacist isn't exactly big daddy govco, is it? pretty basic. we're talking about 15 - 18 year olds who might not be getting any guidance from parents.

Excuse my confusion, but when you said a "psuedophed registry", I thought it was a registry kept by local officials, or paid for by tax dollars. Is this not so? I really have no experience with this.

I personally dont believe a pharmacist should be privy to a childs sexcapades. Under 18 it should be parents only.

no, i don't believe even the psuedophed registry works in that manner.

giving guidance on proper use of a medicine is pharmacist territory no matter what age..no one said anything about discussing sexcapades.

Does a psuedophed registry officially exist, or is it just records that pharmacists keep in house? I did a search for it and noting came up.

Giving guidance to an under age pregnant girl about an abortion pill is not your local pharmacist territory imo. Physician yes.

In states that require it, it exists. NJ is an example. When I go buy some I need to show my DL, they write down my name and DL # into a notebook. What happens to that information later on, IDK.

i think its the responsibility of the retailer and it also depends upon the state. some states have a bigger problem with meth than others. i searched it recently trying to figure out why walmart would deny me but i could go to walgreens and purchase no problems. i didn't come up with anything concrete.

your first problem, it is not an abortion pill. the pill does not ABORT anything.

I tried to look that up relative to sex education, but for some reason "sex education" is a forbidden phrase here at work. Our firewall blocks access to those sites for some reason. I'm 44 years old and they don't want me learning about it. I work for a telecom company. I guess sex education might cut into future potential mobile phone subscribers.

I'm the one that manages this for our company. I leave myself unblocked for testing purposes of course.

Maybe they should take girls as young as 15 off the forbidden fruits list, seeing as they are women now, and can make such adult decisions on their own, without even informing their parents. Perhaps they should be allowed to buy cigarettes and alcohol, sign legally binding contracts, drive cars, join the military, get married, and even vote.

if you are 15, male or female, you can buy all sorts of medicines OTC without adult permission.

Ok, so there is really no "registry" so to speak. There is no state database where your name and address go everytime you make a psuedophed purchase. It's simply in-house records and each store can determine whether or not to seell you the drug based on their policies.

Thanks for clearing up my " first problem". Feel free to list the others alphabetically.rolleyes.gif

Agreed. I think that the age for statutory rape should be lowered too. The should be no more "of legal age" bulshit. This is a free country and all it does is take away our rights.

not so simple in virginia - not just 'in house'. i said i wasn't sure. but it isn't some huge costly infrastructure. there is a limit as to how much they are legally allowed to sell you and they have to keep track of it.
