Yes, it came in the mail on April 25, My NOA2 was 4/19.

Yes, it is embassy specific...for the Philippines as well, the case # is almost worth it's weight in gold, as you can then pay for and schedule an embassy interview and go to do the medical exams without having to wait for the file to reach the embassy.

Check your regional forum embassy guides for more information, as I only know my fiancee's countries' steps (I'm selfish that way).

Ah, thank you for clearing that up. No wonder some (in UK, Philipines...) like to have their NVC case number as quickly as possible. However,it only seems to help me learn where my file is at because in Vietnam, we still have to send in our packet 3 before receiving the appointment letter. After having that letter can we then schedule for medical exam and such.

Yeah, when I got the number, I was on YM with my fiancee, and then just posted " MNL############" , "Go go honey!"....except I forgot it was 10pm in the Philippines and the banks were long closed for the daybiggrin.png

We were approved on April 19th, too. I've been tracking other CSC filers who were approved around that date and it seems many have already seen their file sent to their respective embassies. I hope we have had the same luck. Unfortunately, NVC's call center has a narrow schedule that's quite difficult for my fiance to call and track down our case during working hours. Maybe we will email if we don't hear anything this week.

Our lawyer said the embassy should contact me directly and it is pretty straightforward from that point to the interview. We are so excited and impatient. We want to know our interview date already!

So, please, lets keep posting any developments. Good luck to all of us!

Er..they don't have a narrow schedule - they're open for 17 hours a day on weekdays - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3177.html:

Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 12:00 AM (Eastern Time)

So 6am until 11pm Peru time. We have an NOA2 date on April 19 also and we had a case number by this Monday.

You are right, Anna. We misread the 12 am for 12 pm.

Thank you. I'll make sure he calls today then.

Congrats on your case. I hope ours is already processed as well.

Best!

Got my NOA2 April 19th and I've already called the NVC 3 times. They still don't have my files and insists that I wait 15 business days but I just can't help and be excited dancin5hr.gif Has anyone who just recently got their NOA2 have better luck?

Our NOA2 was on 4/17 and I called on the 26th. Found out that everything has processed and was already on its way to the Embassy. I was also given my KEV number. Assuming the designation has to do with the Embassy being in Kiev.

If you've gotten the number look at this thread http://www.visajourn...-to-us-embassy/. You can get a good idea of how to track the package leaving the NVC for the Embassy. Ours took 4 days to go from Boston to Ukraine.
