Hi VJ,

I received NOA1 hard copies in the mail for my Husband's AOS and EAD yesterday. It seems as though USCIS has lost his AP paperwork because I have not received any notification (text, email or hard copy) as of yet. I called and spoke to a customer service representative at USCIS and she advised me to make an InfoPass appointment, which I have done, but the appointment is not for another 2 weeks. She also said that if I re-send the AP paperwork that it will void the first package, if it is ever located.

Has anyone experienced this or something similar? Can I re-submit the AP paperwork at the InfoPass appointment and have them attach it to the EAD paperwork? Do you think its possible that the adjudicating officer might discover the AP paperwork behind the EAD papers and process it at the same time (without a AP case/receipt number)? It's my understanding that my Husband would receive a combo EAD/AP card once approved and the last thing I want to happen is delay his EAD.

Any help or input is much appreciated! Thanks in advance :)

Have you sent all 3 applications in the same envelope? From your timeline, it says that you have sent everything on April 15th. When did you receive the NOA hardcopies for AOS and EAD?

They have 30 days to send the hardcopy. In any case, I think it's a little early to say it is lost and my advice is to wait for now.

Even if the AP paperwork is somehow lost, it would not delay his EAD application. He would just receive an EAD card with no AP mention on it. The approved AP would be a separate letter. But still, it's too early to say it would happen like that.

Thanks for your response. Yes, I sent all three applications in the same envelope on April 15th. The package was signed for on April 17th. I received a text message and email on April 24th for AOS and EAD only. I received hard copies for AOS and EAD on April 29th.

I might be wrong on this but I believe the EAD is a combo card with the AP as it merely has "Serves as I-512 Adavance Parole" at the bottom so if they're are processing the EAD I would reckon it's the combo card.

If you apply for EAD only, the EAD card won't have the AP note on it.

If you apply for both at the same time, the EAD card serves as a combo card and has the AP note on it.

It is a combo card, but I still received notices for all three packets. (I applied for AOS/EAD/AP at the same time)

They should get three notices and three different receipt numbers.

That's what I thought, too. Did you receive all three notices at the same time?

Yes I did. If I were in your shoes I would wait until the Infopass appointment but I would also bring a completed AP form with you to the appointment in case they can add it to your file if it is, in fact, missing.

You never know with USCIS. It's really good you made an infopass so quickly!

You could also try typing in a random receipt number. My receipts were all a sequence like msc########01, msc########02, msc########03 like that.

Great advice, thank you! I'll bring the AP form and required back-up to the appointment.

I already tried adding and subtracting receipt numbers to no avail :(

Hopefully they can straighten things out during the InfoPass appointment!
