1. disregard sign in fail, it isn't even done anymore and

2. ask when the final review started and

3. ask when the final review is completed.

It's the final review that matters, not the case complete, for counting.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Just called the NVC and they're opened!

Lisa seemed pretty tired, so I asked her immediately how she was, to which she warmed up and was very nice for the rest of our conversation.

I think that perhaps due to the stress we are going through, we kind of take it for granted that CSOs are humans, after all :)

Can any of my canadian friends help me with getting vaccination records?

I don't understand Canadian healthcare, and honestly, I don't think my husband does either since he never uses it lmao.

His doctor retired about 2 years ago so supposedly his records went to this new doctor that he's only seen once during a new patient consult.

I plan to call her to make sure she has all of that stuff, but I really don't have much hope that she does.

If she doesn't, what does he do?

I hear about these titre tests (sp) but can he just walk to the hospital and get these done?

And are they free?

And honestly, if they're free, even if his doctor has the vaccination records, she's 30 mins away and the hospital is 30secs.

I'd be more tempted to send him to get the tests done instead of taking time off to drive all the way out there to get paperwork which I assume has to be originals or something, right? not faxes?

Kdh - of course they're free. But this kind of lab work needs to be ordered by his doctor which may or may not take place at the hospital. In my city it is done by a lab not at the hospital. Also he could likely go to the local health unit that gives vaccinations, and get them again without too much blood work.

Pm me the name of your city and I'll help you figure it out.

Hubby had to have the titre test done since he's moved around so much. It was free - they drew blood (6 vials) in his doctor's office and then sent it out to a lab to be tested. He doesn't remember how long it took for the results to come back, though. Once they did he got started on getting the vaccinations that he was missing (which were also covered).

Hmm I gotta get on this ish then.

I'm also pretty sure he's never had chicken pox.

I heard that's waved by a verbal declaration of immunity or some #######... but... how do you know if you're immune?! lmao

That could be a total lie!

Yeah, the sooner the better, especially if he ends up needing to get started on several jabs. They might do a titre for chicken pox, not sure. If he's never had it, I'm pretty sure the varicella jab is just for children, so he may have just have aged out of the requirement (there are certain ones you can get a waiver on because of age or season - like he won't get a flu jab since it's summer). He'll likely need an MMR, since the Rubella portion of that usually wears off by the time people reach adulthood, and there's no separate Rubella jab. Fortunately for men the later in life MMR jab doesn't come with the high arthritis risk like it does for women.

They can do the blood tests. Go to that walk in clinic and he can say he wants to be tested for immunity to mumps, measles, rubella, and varicella (chicken pox.) They order up the blood work and he goes and gets it done. It can take a few weeks to a month to get the results back. Then he can get the immunizations if he doesn't have the immunity.

I know i'm immune to chicken pox because i have chicken pox scars. LOL

My rubella was fine and so was measles but mumps immunity wore off.

You should have, but worse comes to worse, you pay extra at the medical. Which is why I suggest just calling the health unit and trying to get the vaccines without the titre tests, is what I recommend your husband should do. Then he has immunity! I had to go get a new dTap (it was time) and MMR because my mumps wore off.
