Just got a checklist email for passport photos, after being told case complete on the phone this morning. KDH, this happened to you too, right? And the consensus is that it's all normal, to just treat the photo checklist as a reminder to bring them to the interview, and it's nothing to worry about, correct?

-50 points from Gryffindor ! grrr !

That'll teach me to prep files and emails on scant sleep and late at night.

The AOS email set was bounced back because I put my birthyear in the biodata section in the email, for her birthyear. Unsure if they will actually add it, on hold to find out.

Yes, corrected email is ready, to push the button, la.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Unfortunately, some guides are outdated (Lingche and James for example) with certain information. I assure you, the FAQ is more up to date in this manner as I put it together a few short months ago, and review it every time I post a new monthly thread.

Thanks for confirming, Saylin. I appreciate the work you do on this. It's very helpful.

Quick question... I see you mention that you may or may not get an email confirming receipt of the DS-3032. If you do not get a response, is it safe to assume they received it?

I re-read NVC's email, and I think this is not a ds-3032 acceptance email. This email is actually a response for the OPTIN and DS-3032 email.

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the
immigrant visa petition: GZOXXXXXXXXXX filed by XXX on behalf of
XXX.

This correspondence is also to notify you that the principal applicant's
case number was changed. The new case number starts with GZO (instead of
GUZ) and is followed by a new set of ten numbers. This change was made
to identify the case for both the NVC and the U.S. Consulate General in
Guangzhou, China as participating in the Optional Electronic Processing
Program.

Please refer to the case number given below in all future correspondence
with the NVC and the U.S. Consulate General in Guangzhou.

This petition is now eligible for further processing. The petitioner,
principal applicant, and/or attorney of record will receive an
instruction package regarding further processing of this petition.

When it says "This petition is now eligible for further processing", what does it mean? Is my DS-3032 got accepted?

Ok, so I called and got confirmation that my case was sent to the embassy yesterday. Is there any reason for me to continue calling the NVC after this (to know if my case has arrived at the embassy) or should all my future calls be made directly to the embassy?

Any idea how long it takes for packages sent from the NVC to embassies to arrive?

That's correct. It's just reminding you to bring the pictures to the interview because they don't accept scanned pictures.

To me that looks like the OPTIN acceptance email.

No, the DS-3032 won't get added to the casefile automatically, a human has to do it at NVC.

The only indication you'll have is that the IV Fee Bill is ready.

The OPT IN Process has been seperated into 2 functions now -

1. conversion to electronic processing and

2. DS-3032 detached and added to the casefile.

You just got the conversion bit. For Now.

Are you reading anything EP related for Guangzhou? If so, what?

A Full Copy of my OPT IN Acceptance email is up at http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/429728-my-nvc-electronic-processing-road/#entry6228361 if you'd like to review it.

Thank you Saylin. I am worried because my case is assigned in Guangzhou, China. I emailed the OPTIN before I got my AOS invoice. In NVC OPTIN thread, it says that for Guangzhou, China, DO NOT optin before getting ds3032 and AOS bill. I really don't know what is gonna happen.......

Well, now you know. How do you feel?

I waited, and my 'stuff' was done at same time.

You not wait, and you have it split now.

I'm sorry, what are you asking for?

Apologies. Nevermind.

Thanks for confirming, Saylin. I appreciate the work you do on this. It's very helpful.

Quick question... I see you mention that you may or may not get an email confirming receipt of the DS-3032. If you do not get a response, is it safe to assume they received it?

Are you referring to the auto-response email or the acceptance email?

Ok, so I called and got confirmation that my case was sent to the embassy yesterday. Is there any reason for me to continue calling the NVC after this (to know if my case has arrived at the embassy) or should all my future calls be made directly to the embassy?

Any idea how long it takes for packages sent from the NVC to embassies to arrive?

Nope, now that the case is out of NVC, there's no point calling them. I would suggest calling DOS in a few days to know if the case has been received at the embassy. It typically takes just a few days, depending how far away it is.

hi guys.. I have a question.

my passport will expired this December 2013. to submit to NVC should I send my current passport or should I make a new passport? the problem is now I live in canada, I cant make new passport in here. can I use my current passport and then if I get interview I'll bring new passport? pls advice.. thanks

The passport is still valid, so no problems at NVC. You should research how how many months valid the passport has to be when you do POE. If it has to be 6+ months, then you'll need to get a new passport within the next couple of months.

Each beneficiary gets their own case numbers. But, you're going to want to make sure both are linked at NVC. If they do get linked, then you'll only have to pay one AOS fee. And they'll also most likely get an interview date scheduled for the same day if they're linked together.

Whether linked or not though, they'll each need their own package. The documents needed for each package is listed in the first two posts. Time to read!

How does the ds3032 work in my case wife and stepdaughter, the stepdaughter is just 12. Well she need to submit her own?
