Yes this is the first time... :-(

Thanks I will find it and call them tomorrow.

Weird... I'd say it's either a new procedure or a new officer who doesn't know what they're doing. Hopefully your call to DOS tomorrow can shed some light (and possibly fix the issue). If they can't help, you may want to contact the embassy and see what's going on. See if either the visa can be shipped asap with the sealed envelope or if you can get a sooner date.

Good luck!

I have gotten an email from NVC stating:

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the immigrant visa petition: ANK2########### filed by "my name" on behalf of "wife's name".

We received the principal applicant's DS-3032 (Choice of Address and Agent) form designating an address and agent. Instructions for paying the immigrant visa application processing fee and all future correspondence will be sent to the agent at the address selected on the DS-3032.

Is this the DS-3032 acceptance letter?

I have just shipped out my i-864 tuesday, should be there this morning. Can't wait till I get through the DS-230.

Ohh, and speaking of DS-230, I have read Saylin's thread and it says that we need to includes:

- Two passport-style photographs (2" x 2") of beneficiary

- Original or Certified Copy of beneficiary's birth certificate, PLUS A PHOTOCOPY

- Original or Certified Copy of marriage certificate, PLUS A PHOTOCOPY
- Original police certificate(s)

However some say that Copy of bio-data page of beneficiary's unexpired passport would be sufficient. Is this true?

Posted

You need a photocopy of the beneficiary's bio data page AND all the other documents you wrote down. Also to be included are any divorce documents or military documents the beneficiary has.

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.  - Dr. Seuss

Hi everyone. So we called last night and NVC has received our application yet but no case number...hoping within the next 10 days!

On another note, I am hoping someone has insight. My wife has changed her name to married name in the US so all of her social security, drivers license etc is under her married name but her Japanese passport is still under her maiden name. I dont want to confuse things any more so when filling out paper work such as DS-3032 and 864 should I put her married name or her maiden name?

Okay, ignore this. My wife posted this from my account and there wasn't much context and I am signing her up for her own account (suggesting "dubaigal" username)....

Essentially she was asking if she could use a different name on the DS230 than is in her foreign passport.

The answer is yes; as long as we have a legal marriage cert showing the name change and on the i130 we put all her possible names in "Other Name Used". Yes, we know there are some travel challenges to deal with (boarding a flight to USA with a passport and a green card that don't match, but that is easy enough to deal with). More importantly, we want her green card to match her existing SS card name as it is easier to deal with Human Resources if she gets a job.

Nothing to see here, move along...

I'm flying. I would never drive that far. 3-4 days in a car? No thanks. Besides it doesn't save any money when I can get Montreal round trip for $600ish.

I still think it's funny we both met our husband's playing COD. rofl.gif

Let me know when you're in town, if I'm not working I can show you around!

Right?! who would've thought that COD would help us find love, I wasn't even looking haha

Which browser are you using? I think the general consensus is to use IE. I used chrome on my macbook with no issues but could've just been luck.

Not much to do until the interview date is assigned. Once it is, then you can book your medical. If you're missing any vaccines, get them done now, as they'll likely be cheaper at a clinic than at a panel physician.

Although it may not matter, I recommend waiting until the case has arrived at Montreal before signing up for Loomis.

Besides the medical and Loomis, all you have left to do is gather all the documents for the interview.

Great! Many thanks Saylin!
