I am going to try calling again today shortly because the last two days i called to speak with a tier 2 rep they both refused to transfer me and I got in a argument with the rep yesterday because she said for me to wait 90 days before calling back to initiate an inquiry about where my file is. I requested the teir 2 and she said just because i want to speak to one does not mean she has to transfer me, how rediculous is that.

Instead of telling the tier1 customer rep about any inquiry, after all the questions they have for you and ask you "how may I help you, just tell them:

"I would like to talk to talk to an immigration officer (that's tier2) to find out when exactly was my file sent to NVC"

This worked for me every time I called.

Customer Rep can't answer this question. So, instead of telling them off the bat that you want them to investigate where your file is, you are just requesting information about your file (when it was sent) that tier1 can't provide, so they have less reason not to transfer.

Then you can ask tier2 whatever else you want.

Hello Everyone,

I just got off the phone with NVC. Apparently my case has been reviewed today, 5/15, and I'm going to be receiving a checklist in my email for my original Chilean marriage certificate and my W2s for 2012. The problem is that I sent my original marriage certificate. I have seen that people from Chile have had this problem, so I asked for a supervisor review. They said it takes 10-15 business days, should I expect to wait that long?

Also, regarding my W2s for 2012, I live abroad, and filed taxes, however I did not make any U.S. income, therefore having no W2s. I included the foreign income sheet with my taxes, but apparently this isn't good enough. The rude operators claim I have to send a statement regarding why I don't have W2s, is this correct? They wouldn't let me talk to a supervisor.

I'm so frustrated right now because I followed everything to the letter only to get a bogus checklist!

Any advice?!

Thanks!

Also, does anyone know if I go ahead and send another original marriage certificate, if that might be faster than a supervisor review, or if there is no point since it is already pending review again?

I did'nt get what you're trying to tell me here?huh.png

IMO, that affidavit of birth should have found it's way into a government office, and some other birth document generated there. Get that? NVC stops complaining to you.

Saylin ,

I did call NVC and they said that they need original Birth certificate. At this point i'm confused, When i applied for I-130 i didn't had the birth certificate or let it me put it this way it was hard to obtain but now when i applied at NVC I submitted the 2 original affidavit of birth. My question here is why are they putting an objection on affidavit of birth now as it clearly states that in case original Birth certificate is not available , affidavit of birth is okay to submit. It's going to be hard to obtain a birth certificate now but it's doable but then also i was thinking won't they ask that why i didn't submitted the original birth certificate initially? HELP!!crying.gifcrying.gif

.....working on getting the originals.

I would suggest calling NVC up and requesting to speak with a supervisor to get this sorted out.

LOL! That's a good sign! Mine was 'in process' almost a week after they withdrew the money from my account. Mail your AOS packet in!

Well, according to NVC's site, you need more than just the affidavits: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html#certificates

And the beneficiary's birth certificate isn't needed with the I-130 petition, so it doesn't matter if you submitted prior or not. Plus, even if it was required, that's USCIS. NVC has their own requirements.

It will take approx 10 more days now , I will be travelling over there this weekend so most likely I'll have to mail it in myself along with the IV cover letter as notified by the NVC rep. I was very excited about case completion this week , thought i'd have the interview scheduled while I'm there so i could just bring her along but I guess it is what it is.

it's okay.

Thanks again Saylin. I appreciate all the response.good.gif

10 days isn't that bad. I've heard of some things like this taking weeks or months. If you can mail it in right away, I'd think case complete around the first week of June, with an interview probably sometime in August. In the grand scheme of things, this only pushes your interview back 2-3 weeks, which may seem like a lot now, but if you step back and look at the length of this entire process, it's nothing.
