my husband didnt contact USCIS yet. But he called NVC yesterday, they said they have our documents now but it will take 15 days again to be put in their system. Do we need to call them again today to juz wait for the 15 days?

Well, if NVC has your documents now, then there's obviously no reason to contact USCIS anymore. I highly suggest calling once a day now until you get the case number since it can be assigned any second.

And only press the post button once :P

So, after getting the confirmation letter that our electronic IV documents had been received ("We received electronic documentation for this case. Please allow up to 20 business days from the day the email was sent for the scanned attachments to be uploaded to the electronic case file and reviewed.") we then got what I believe is a false checklist. I called NVC to find out if there was an actual issue and got the most unhelpful person ever, who basically said they have no updates on our case. Could you lovely folks confirm that the following looks like a false checklist?

We have reviewed the documents which you submitted in support of an application for an immigrant

visa. Please review the information listed under each applicant's name and provide any documents
which are indicated as missing or need additional information. You must submit the required
information. Failure to provide the requested information will delay your immigrant visa interview.....

What is going on with Nairobi embassy?

Nairobi is taking a long time to assign interviews as they are really backed up since they process the immigrant visas for at least 4 countries. Someone who had a case complete 3/18 just got their interview assigned last week for the end of June. Hopefully they will get caught up on interviews soon so there won't be such a delay between case complete and the day the interview is assigned.

2013 began CR1 process

Fast forward to:

2/24/16- Husband received 10 year green card

Starting the process over again for our daughter (IR2):

1/13/16 NOA1 from Potomac Service Center

4/5/16 NOA2!

4/7/16 Case sent to NVC

4/22/16 Received NVC Case and Invoice Numbers

4/22/16 Submitted DS-261

4/22/16 Invoice for AOS Received. Paid AOS Fee

4/25/16 AOS Fee shows as PAID

4/27/16 Invoice for IV Received. Paid IV Fee

4/29/16 IV Fee Shows as PAID

4/29/16 Submitted DS-260

5/6/16 Sent AOS and IV packages

5/9/16 AOS and IV packages received by NVC

5/9/16 Scan Date

6/10/16 Case Complete

8/8/16 Received Interview Date

9/20/16 Interview Date

Phew! dancin5hr.gif Now I will just keep my fingers super crossed that they don't take the full 20 business days! Oh, and that my husband will get an interview scheduled during one of the 2-two week windows that he'll be in Canada in the next 6 months. Yipes!

Just a warning, most likely you'll get an interview scheduled in the first week of june for the first week of July if you get a case complete ASAP. That's what happened to me after getting a case complete by April 15th. People who were done by end of april still had June dates too, just later in the month. So as the case completes pile up they tend to run out interviews by about mid month and you have to wait for the next month. I'm just warning you to save some time because I called ALL the time during this time and it didn't do me a lick of good, except that I received the p4 interview letter the day the interview was scheduled. LOL

Yeah, that's about what we're thinking, but that would actually work for us. Actually, July 8 would be perfect - it would give him time to get his immunization records, a new police certificate (old one expires next month), and the medical done after he gets back to Canada on the 1st. Of course, because we need the timing to work out so precisely, I'm pretty sure that it's precisely what WON'T happen.

I was actually hoping for a friday interview date so I wouldn't be spending a week in Montreal, just would be more cost effective obviously. But I'll enjoy the time to myself, taking pictures and hope for some awesome weather.
