I don't know anything about that visa, but I would think there would be an A number somewhere on it. It can also be called a 'Registration Number' as it is on IR-1/CR-1 visas. If you can't find it on the visa or paperwork, you can always put 'unknown'. That's what I had to put for my previous L2 visa.

The C1/D is a non-immigrant visa. There is no A-number for non-immigrant visas.

NVC has me confused!!!

Yesterday we got an e-mail and my IV processing fee was invoiced and ready kicking.gif

But after my stepdad paid mine he went to pay my sister's case and... nothing unsure.png

So he called NVC because when it was time to pay the AOS Fees they were linked (related cases) and we were wondering why one would be invoiced without the other. The NVC operator said that my sister, a minor did not get a choice of agent form (DS-3032) and her case is currently undergoing administrative processing and that there is no time frame for how long this would take

Do minors receive choice of agent forms?

Why is my case ahead of hers and they were linked together?

YES, minors have to file a Choice of Agent and Address form (unless you use a lawyer). So frustrating that the NVC operators give out so much false information. In the stepchild thread, every single one of us filed that form, and then the IV bill was invoiced, just like for spouses' and parents' petitions.

Your stepdad should call back NVC and see if he can get a more knowledgeable operator who can explain what is going on. So he filed the Choice of Agent and Address for both of you (clearly for you, since your case was already invoiced) - but hers wasn't accepted? Did he sign (or e-mail) on her behalf, like "XXX, signing for minor child YYY"? There were some people posting in the stepchild thread who submitted the e-mail template for a minor child and were then required to send the actual signed DS-3032 form, so maybe that is the case (Ours was accepted with just the e-mail template - 16-year-old stepchild). Did your father receive any reply about hers?

Cases filed together often proceed at different speeds. It *seems* like they are joined up again at the interview, but I'm not sure if that is always the case (probably not *always*) and if her case really went to AP, then nobody knows how long that will take.

Every beneficiary has to send a DS-3032, otherwise the IV won't be invoiced. I'd suggest getting that DS-3032 sent pronto. And hopefully the AP the operator mentioned won't last long (if that's indeed what she's going through, you never know with these operators).

ya, if you had a MEP casefile #, that's one of the benefits for NVC Electronic Processing.

For Mexico and China, interview is scheduled about day 4 past case complete.

It's a god-send, really.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
