now that's an interesting scenario.

the passport will be used as a 1 year I-551 document AFTER coming out of POE (there be stamps there, la)

so

anytime need to show green card, hey ! there's the STAMP in the passport !

So, in this particular case, NO, no pay the fee , not pay the fee, on the child.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Okay, I just got a checklist for IV documents that has a LOT more detail than I have seen in anyone else's. Is it just a false checklist?

May 9, 2013

NVC Case Number:

Dear :

We have reviewed the documents

Smells like no one found any civil documents when they detached the civil docs collection from your email.

IMO - it's a snafu -

call into NVC, get a Supervisor, ask that the file attachments for EP for the IV set be DETACHED and added to the casefile and reviewed.

Unless, of course, you not actually send them off already , and I think you have..

[...]

Well, that's weird. It's basically asking for EVERYTHING that's supposed to be in the IV package. But, usually when it's a false checklist, it's just a really short and sweet false checklist that's like 1 paragraph long. I'd suggest calling up NVC and asking. It may just be that they reviewed your DS-260 and this is some special false checklist for those doing online forms.

hello everyone! how would you know if the checklist you receive is a fake checklist? i've read some post about it. my case is already in NVC and got an RFE about my sister's proof of citizenship which we are sure of that my husband sent it together with the other documents. do you think this is a fake checklist? i also called NVC yesterday before i receive this email and they said i'm missing this document. Also, can i send it through email? please help. my husband is on his way here so he wont be able to take care of this missing document so we are trying to look for another alternative to send it.

also, the pdf file has 6 pages but 3-5 pages are blank...

It's typically a false checklist when it's asking for the whole package. If it asks for something specific though (like proof of citizenship in your case), then it's not false. If you're POSITIVE you included it, you can call and ask to speak with a supervisor. Request that a supervisor re-review the package and hope they can locate the missing document. If not, you'll have to snail mail in another copy of the proof of citizenship.

Yes, my child will be immigrating with me. Our child was born before my husband was naturalized USC, so I am assuming that our child will be a USC upon POE, correct? So do we have to pay for the $165 twice after we receive our visas? smile.png

It depends if the child will be getting a green card or not after POE. I'd think that if they become a USC upon POE, then they won't get a green card, thus don't need to pay the fee. But I'm not entirely sure about this. You may want to call up USCIS and inquire. Or, ask at the interview. Or heck, do both!

Wait, did you type the wrong information in the email or NVC inputted the wrong information for your case?

If it's the former, re-send the email with the correct information. If it's the latter, then send an email to them with either a copy of the passport or birth certificate, and request that his information be corrected. Once it's corrected, re-send the DS-3032.

If you accidentally typed in the wrong information, why would you need to send a passport/birth certificate? Just re-send the email, and double check this time that everything's correct.

AOS invoiced and paid kicking.gif However, I'm a bit worried about something. I've noticed that there is a new Affidavit of Support form on the USCIS website. Our co-sponsor has already filled out and signed the old form, as we prepared everything in advance. He is currently out of the country, so it would delay the process if he had to fill out a new form. Will the old form still be accepted or does it definitely have to be the new one? I mean, the content is the same, they just changed the layout...

Found this on USCIS: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=b70f8875d714d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCRD&vgnextchannel=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD (read the edition date section). Until June 23rd, 2013, they'll accept the older versions, but after that, they'll only accept the newer versions. So, if you send the package before June 23rd, you'll be fine.
