I agreed with you here. What I don't understand is WHY would anyone wants to track down if and when your package leaving NVC / received at local embassy..... when they already know exact date of interview? and what purpose does this serve?.

The only purpose it serves (besides doing something "fun") is to give an indication that it arrived safely at the embassy. Sure, there's no guarantee that YOUR case is in that package going to the embassy, but it gives you a rough estimate on when to call DOS to confirm it has indeed arrived. Of course this is absolutely not needed, just something optional for people to do.

Ok I THINK this is just a false checklist thing, but I want ot make sure.

On the third page, what I am seeing is this:

______1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:_________________________

The National Visa Center received your DS-260 form. We are waiting for the traveling applicant's supporting civil documents to be submitted to the NVC. Your online Immigrant Visa Application will be reviewed upon receipt of your supporting documentation.

I filled out the online form monday, but could not submit my additional paperwork until Tuesday morning due to lack of a scanner for the stupid pictures.

So, just want to confirm I can ignore this?

Or should I actually send the stuff again?

I was going to call because honestly I barely understand ANY of these stupid pdfs they sent me.

But then I finally saw that part and I think that's all it was so I hung up.

I have no interest in sitting on hold.

It's not like it can expedite anything for me.

Gracias!

Well, called today and when I got the standard - "no wait 20 days" I asked if I shouldn't send them again. She responded that "no, I can see that they have arrived but they have not been reviewed." That at least gave me some comfort.

I am now at 11 business days for AOS and six business days for IV.

Well. progress is made.

I talked to NVC again today - just like everyday - and they told me that AOS is fine but the documents still haven't been uploaded. That one is a no-brainer so I should be getting case complete soon.

Wish me well.

I vote false checklist. If you sent the IV package, then you can ignore it.

Well. progress is made.

Grats on the progress! Hope you get case complete this week :)

Here's a wiki on pretty much every question you can think of that can be asked at the interview: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Consular_Interview_Questions

I'm not entirely sure about your second question, but I believe that everyone who is applying for a visa (no matter the age) is required to be at the interview.

Yes, the green card fee applies to EVERYONE. It can only be paid after the passport and package has been received after an approved interview. You can read information about the fee on USCIS here: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=3a2bb75e8109b310VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=fe529c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD
