So, starting to wonder what's up since they still haven't invoiced the IV fee yet. AOS was invoiced last week, and from looking at other people's timelines, it looks like they usually get invoiced around the same time. Does this deserve a call and a nudge, or is it normal and I should just sit tight? (I've already submitted the DS-261 online, and had my case accepted for EP, if that makes any difference.)

AOS and IV are two separate tracks that have nothing to do with one another. The IV fee is invoiced upon receiving and adding the DS-3032/DS-261 to the case file. Have you called NVC to see if they've added the DS-261 yet to your case file? Call asap. Still open for a little under 4 more hours.

Quick questions for all those who are submitting DS-260 online! Is one able to submitt supporting documents online or do they have to be mailed? Im still waiting on NVC to receive my case just want to have everything ready!

God Bless

Nicaragua is not eligible for online forms nor electronic processing. You only have one option: sending packages by snail mail, including the DS-230 form in the IV package, not the online DS-260.

Just our case number n Invoice number today took 11 business days from de day NVC recieved

I went back and read the FAQs after I posted and saw the tip to call. I called them and they said it still hadn't been added to the case file (though submitted a week ago). The guy said that it will most likely be invoiced early next week. Sigh. I'm emailing our IV package tonight, so all we'll need to do is pay the IV fee and then wait until it shows paid so that hubby can fill out the DS-260. Maybe by this time next week. Pretty pretty please, immigration gods?

Woah, no no no, do NOT send out the IV package yet. The bill needs to be paid before the package can be sent out. You still have to wait. I'd suggest to keep calling NVC once a day to find out when the DS-261 has been added to the case file. As with the DS-3032, it can take 1-2 weeks, so you're still within normal time frames.

Im pretty sure you have to do the DS-230. I havent seen anything for the DS-260 in the Embassy website.

The Infopass is an appointment you make for your local field office. You ban go to the USCIS website and on the top left corner you will see where it say.Infopass appointments.

Ok. Did you submit the DS-261? or DS-3032 by email?

DS-261 is part of the online forms processing (just like the DS-260). But only a few countries are eligible for this, Nicaragua is not one of them.

Wait, I thought that since we do online forms and EP that the IV package isn't tied into the bill in the same way that others are, only the DS-260 has to wait for that.

I may have misinterpreted what you said, but I thought you advised another Canadian applicant to send either email package while waiting.

For EP or not, you still need to wait to pay the respective bill before sending the package. The suggestion I gave was that the person didn't need to wait for the bill to appear as PAID in the payment portal. They had still paid the bill though. Yours hasn't even been invoiced yet.

Gotcha, okay, thanks. Also, another instance in which the call-center people are the misinformation folks, because he said to send it now. I follow you, though, Saylin.

@smrowe

I did not send the IV package until AFTER I had completed the DS-260 because it is the accompanying documents. To send the documents without the DS-260 being done would be like sending the documents to the DS-230 without the DS-230! Just doesn't make sense to me personally.

You also have to wait and make sure you OPTIN email was accepted before sending anything via email.

Does anybody know how long it takes for the NVC to respond to your RFE response ? I mean how long it takes for them to reply to whatever you send to the Attn:DR department.

I sent my response to the RFE for W2 (from the I-864 package) and the postal service indicates that they have received it on April 23rd. However, I called them today and they said that it has not been reviewed yet (the system still shows that I still need to respond to the RFE O_o). Does anybody know how long it takes nowadays for the NVC to respond to your RFE ?

It actually doesn't matter if you send the IV package first or complete the DS-260 first no0pb.gif

Looking back, I would have sent the IV package first, instead of waiting after I finished the DS-260 to send it. It took me like 1-2 hours to complete the online form. If I had sent the package first, I could have been 1-2 hours ahead of everyone else who had emailed them. Just my thoughts ;)

It typically takes the same amount of time for checklists as it does the packages the first time around.

I get what you're saying with the forms. I'm waiting now until the IV bill gets invoiced and, to be on the safe side, I see the money has been pulled from my account. In any case, our IV package is all assembled and ready to go, whenever that happens.

And our Optin was accepted last week, so we're good on that front at least.

I will be so glad when all of this is over (as we all will be, I know). The summer means traveling for work for both my husband and myself, and while we thought we'd be well and done by this point, now we're facing down several instances of international travel and praying that he'll get an interview slot that fits with those. I just hope we get a break on that end of things!

But you shouldn't send the IV until after you can DO the DS-260 is what I meant, not after you actually complete the DS-260. I should have specified. Like I paid the IV bill on the 28th, but I didn't want to email the IV package until it showed paid because I couldn't even complete the IV application! Whereas if I was mailing a DS-230, I would have sent the whole package the day I paid the IV bill.
