We are having the same problem. Mailed the ds 3032 and received notification from usps on may 24.. Mailed it on may 30. Received confirmation of receipt from nvc on june 10 and still hace not received the iv invoice. My husband called twice already and told him we had to wait ... this is nuts!!. How much longer ....

Just keep an eye on the payment portal (using IE), it could be invoiced any day. Should have emailed it though, so much faster... And completely free...

I opted to email (refer to previous post about DS3032 format) and got a reply on the same day. Mailed, it would have taken a lot longer.

Hoping someone can help me. We are filling out the new I-864 form and are a little confused about the instructions. In the instructions attached, it states that you should put your income from item number 5 and put it into item number 6.c.

Why?! It's already in item number 5, and then in item 10 it asks you to total up 5, 6.c. Etc. but then you would be be totalling it twice?

My husband has just left one job and we are using his father as a joint sponsor, which is why in the image we have $90,000 in the total for item number 10. But what I am wondering is where to put his father, in number 6 or number 7?

And if we follow the I-864 instructions and put his income (0$) from 5 into 6.c, then do we put his name into 6.a and put SELF Into 6.b?

What did you do?

Thanks for your help!!

blink.png Looking at the instructions, it doesn't seem to make much sense to me... Without taking the instructions in mind, for me, 5 would be the petitioner's income, and then 6-9 would be for other people in the household contributing income. That would make sense to me. What the instructions are suggesting doesn't.

I would suggest you call up NVC and ask about this one. Make sure you call a MINIMUM of five times, then take the majority answer. Report what they say here cause I'd like to know what they say on this one as the instructions have baffled me.

Edit: It would make sense if on number 10 you didn't add up 5 as well, but it says to do so, so still doesn't make sense.

Yeah your final point is what has baffled me the most because it asks you to add up 5 AND 6.c. Etc which is just insane 8-O

The instructions may have made sense if number 10 didn't ask for both of those values to be added up =\

I'll get the hubby to ring tonight and ask, this is a straight to supervisor question! Will let you know what they report!

I really thing this is a mistake in the instructions, because in the instructions for the old form, which I have saved, for this part of the form it says to "Take your annual individual income from line 23 and enter it on line 24a. If this amount..."

So, I think they totally just did copy/paste and tried to replace number, and then didn't do it correctly. If you look further in these new instructions, at the top of page 6, they say

"To determine the filing requirements for your relatives included in Part 6 Item Number 7.-10. follow these instructions"

This clearly should have been items 6-9, because item 10 is the sum.

No wonder they delayed processing these because of lack of instructions from USCIS if they were making these kind of mistakes.

I am putting my income on question 5, and since I am not using any other person's income, I have that same amount on question 10. Questions 6-9 I have empty. But, I am yet to send this form.

That is really helpful thank you! You have put my mind at ease about it, it really does seem like they have just copied and pasted the info! What do these people do all day, pick their nose?! It would be common send to read through the new instructions to see of they make sense, but clearly no one did that! The husband is phoning the NVC later and will ask, I've also sent an email asking too, so we have written evidence should something go wrong :)

Also, whoever does the timelines for Visajourney needs to add an extra step! There is an NVC received step, but no NVC case number issued step, and we all know there is a time lag between the two. I'm unsure as to put the 10 June (the date they received the file) or 21 June (the date I received a case number) :)

According to FedEx, the NVC has received my IV package. Do I just wait now? What is the rough timeline for an interview?

Before you can even think about an interview, you need a case complete first. Both packages need to be reviewed and accepted first.

I understand. But as far as things that I need to actively do or send, nothing is left, correct?

Correct, unless you get a checklist.
