Ok... question for you nova scotians.... I just scheduled the medical for next week march 8th. I forgot to ask her, do I get the x-rays and bloodwork first, or do I go see Dr Doane first?

Hey Joel,

When I called the same Doctor she told me that you go to the hospital there after the medical I think and have it done. She said it will cost about $103.00 at the hospital and then the fee for the medical with Dr. Doane. I took notes while I was on the phone with her heres everything I have.......

1. you need either passport or photo id ( drivers license) and birth certificate.

2. immunization record to the best of your knowledge ( her words )

3. 3 passport pic's

4. Medical fee $150.00 (Can.)

5. you need to be sure your MMR and tetnus immunizations are up to date if not you can get them there for $15.00 each. ( I called the department of health and you can have them done there for no cost)

6. you go to the hospital there at get x-ray and bloodwork ( she said Approximately $103.00)

7. $20.00 to have medical report couriered to you if you don't live in the city to pick it up when it's ready.

She also stressed repeatedly not to be late ( and I mean repeatedly ) She said they are in the Quinpool building in the back, there is lots of parking and and they are located across the hall from Wendy's. And something about a green door I can't seem to recall exactly. Hope this all helps.

Go see Dr. Doane, get that over with, and then he'll send you on to the right building in the QE2 complex (he even gave me a map LOL, but it's not hard to find). You'll go to the business office first to pay the fees for the X-ray and the bloodwork, get the receipts and then you can get them completed in whatever order you wish.

Look for the Wendy's and Quinpool Market on the corner, turn left at the lights and go around back, lots of free parking there. If I remember correctly, Dr. Doane's office door, or the outside door, is green, hence his receptionist stressing it. :) It really is fairly quick and painless (except if you don't like having your blood drawn. ;) )

Get the RCMP record ASAP, that won't take very long. Oh, and pay the $20 to get your results couriered to you, it's worth it, especially since you have a long drive to Halifax. :)

Congrats Joel, you'll be getting your interview in no time. :)

I went and had my medical done first Joel. Then we went to the hospital to get the blood work and X-ray.

Dont forget to ask for a copy of the vacc worksheet that he will be filling out. He will put one in your medical envelope, but make sure to ask for a copy. You will need this for you AOS to transfer the records from your vacc worksheet to a I-163 form by a Civil Surgeon here in the US.

It will go fast for you now Joel  Before you know it you will be off to Montreal for you interview. :D

I see your appointment is March 8th. I had my medical done there last year on March 9th..............

I just noticed there is three of us from Nova Scotia on this thread that will all be going thru Atlanta for AOS.

Joel, Freda and myself. Thats pretty neat

Well you guys are awesome!!

I'm trying to convince a friend of mine to come with me because I absolutely hate driving through Halifax. I've done it before, I'd just rather not do it alone again :)

anyway it's off to send the DS-230 and checklist to montreal!

LOL Guess that makes 3 of us. I have been dreading it also. I hate all those one way streets!! I may go the night before and stay somewhere in the city so I don't have to be on the road so early with the little guy our appointment is at 10:30am. I made my appointment after the 19th of March hoping that my sons passport will be here by then since I had to send them both his birth certificates the (short and long form). Our appointment is for the 21st of March I'm sure we won't be getting an interview before that but if we do I will just go pay for yet another birth certificate for the little guy and move our medical appointment up. I checked with them when I booked it and they said I can rebook it at an earlier date if the passport shows up sooner. Can't believe it has been taking so long waiting for it. I applied back in November but with them requesting the second birth certificate and the holidays I am still here waiting.

Yeah mine was quick too, but when I sent for my sons I sent his short form birth certificate and when they saw he had a USC father they wanted to see his long form and make sure my fiance knew about it. Guess I should have sent a note telling them I was requesting the passport for a K1 visa to move there maybe it would ahve gotten procesed quicker if they knew the passport was to take him to his father and not away from him. My mistake..............

Me again, wondering if you, Karen or Peggy or anyone else herecan help me. I have a question about the I-134, my fiance sent them to me today and we are confused. Do we need to have 2 of them for each our son and I or 2 for me with our son included on it or just the one form. We have all the other letters from employers, letter from bank and the tax returns. We are just both unsure of the actual I-134 form it's self. Right now I have 2 I-134 forms and 2 of all the rest all notorized, but I read somewhere we need one for each person so I am assuming we need one for our son too. With his name on it on the line that says this affidavit is executed on behave of and none on the lines where is asks for spouse and children?? EWWWWWWWW I am so confused my head is aching.
