Very unique issue

Hi, everyone.

Just needing some advice as my fiance will have his packet 3 shortly and then on to the interview.

Anyway, my fiance has short-term memory problems since a horrific automobile accident nearly 10 years ago. However, he is now in perfect health and can work. He does, however, just suffer from short-term memory loss but has little tricks that help him get by from day to day.

My question is this: should he bring it up at his medical interview? Also, he will probably have difficulty remembering some of the things they may ask him at the interview (i.e. my banking info, when exactly we met, dates, etc)... should he mention it to the immigration officer or no?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I would not consider this a definative answer, but my guess would be yes, he should disclose this problem both at the medical exam and also at interview. Best of luck to you both!

I would agree that you should probably tell them, they might get suspicious if his answers don't match what's on the paperwork that you sent in. Having said that he should have a copy of that information as well. Maybe someone else can say a little more toward that. Hope the best for you

The way I see it, if he doesn't disclose it at the medical or interview then he is leaving himself wide open and jepordising the visa if he is unable to answer some basic questions and the conof is unaware of his history and short term memory difficulty.

A letter from his doctor explaining his medical condition (perhaps even notarized) would be extremely wise and I would think presenting it to the interviewer at the beginning of the interview along with an explanation would just be common sense.

My advice will be if they allow you to go in along with him for the interview you should go to the interview. Good Luck
