I'm finding some conflicting information on the requirements for the 3032 form. Some things say the form must be printed out and physically signed.

But the pdf form I found online requires an electronic signature before it can be saved or printed. And the main DS-3032 page says there is an email option that includes all the information of the form, but doesn't actually use the form. And it does not require a physical signature.

When I get my NVC number I plan to opt in for electronic processing so ...

Can I just use the PDF with the electronic signature and e-mail it as an attachment once I'm signed up for EP? That would seem the simplest, as if anything is simple in this process.

Should I print out the e-signed pdf and have my wife physically sign it and scan it back in? What works best?

Thanks,

Jon

If you're planning on doing EP, then I suggest you read this amazing wiki by Darnell: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Electronic_Processing It answers your question about the DS-3032.

no electronic signature, at all.

can fill it out on computer, print it out on a printer, SIGN IT, rescan it in to PDF file format,

and then

yer set.

no need to worry about any barcode on the form, when sending it out to OPT IN, at all ..

IMO/E, the different information, conflicting information, comes about because there are different tracks to utilize -

it's not one size fits all -

each track each different, between:

--paper only

--emailed ds-3032 only with remainder paper

--EP for Canada and Mexico (which uses DS-261) and

--EP for China (which uses DS-3032)

so, in essence, there's a 'China Track' - Saylin's given you the link for the China Track.

Good Luck ! If you get stuck, post somewhere, I'll find you or Ryan will find you.

Go Get Em !
