I noticed you had 2 biometrics appointments... Care to explain why?

If you go back in posts, I explained why. But, to save you: I got a second letter because the FBI couldn't recognize my fingerprints, so I had to get them done a second time, so they can compare. Actually just had the biometrics appointment this morning. Last time took about 30 minutes, today: 6 minutes. Hope the FBI likes them this time laughing.gif I don't feel like driving another 3 hours for a third set headbonk.gif

Thanks :) The lady there confirmed what the guy had told me the first time: I won't be asked to get them done again. They're only done a maximum of twice. The only reason I'd need to go back is if more than 15 months pass by, as apparently that's how long fingerprints are good for. But as ROC is only taking around 9ish months, I don't expect the 15 months expiry to be an issue.

Got our Biometrics letter on 6/12. The biometrics appointment date is for 6/28. We were planning on doing an early walk-in since the week of the appointment looks pretty hectic for us, but apparently St.Paul ASC is very strict about the process, they will allow you in the building only if you have a valid appointment for that date and time.

Started with our son's CRBA application. Seeing how smoothly it went, we felt encouraged to start my wife's IV application process. There were multiple complications, I was working with a company in India. Did not exactly meet domicile requirements, since I did not own or lease a house in the US. My only US income to show was a savings bank account and a 401k account.

I-130

4/27/11 Appointment and submission of I-130 for wife at New Delhi Embassy, India. Request to forward case to Chennai consulate, India

5/16/11 Packet-4 recieved, interview scheduled for 6/14/11. Panic sets in, No Police Clearance yet, request to reschedule.

6/02/11 Receive reschedule letter by email. Interivew rescheduled to 7/21/11

7/09/11 Finally receive Police clearance in India after a lot of running about.

7/11/11 Phew! Received a job offer, just in time. That took care of my domicile and income requirement

7/18/11 Medical appointment at Apollo hospital Chennai. Really tense affair, the doctor was so rude and uptight that she made any Immigration officer in the US look like an angel.

7/21/11 Interview at Chennai consulate. After a couple of tense hours and an intimidating interview, asked to pay visa fees and submit passport.

CR-1

8/22/11 Entered USA with CR wife and our toddler son in tow, port of entry ORD. Wife handed CBP officer the IV packet and received I-551 stamp

ROC

5/29/13 Sent ROC application for wife to CSC

6/06/13 Check cashed

6/07/13 Received NOA1, dated 6/03/13

6/12/13 Received Biometric appointment, dated 6/28/13

10/07/13 Approval notice received, approved on 10/03/13 (approx 4.5 mths from filing)

Updating mneleventhirty's biometrics date. If you live close enough to the ASC, you can always attempt an early walk-in. The worst that can happen is they say no and turn you away.

nah don't believe everything you hear or read.

what time did you go? early in the day or late afternoon? I suggest you go 1 hour before they close. Do not go early in the morning as there are many people with appointments. ASC locations are usually completely empty an hour or two before they close, so I suggest you go then. It'd just be easier push it and give an excuse.

but you may also go a day or two before the appointment day, in case they give you hard time again.

also you could try to go other asc locations

I took a chance doing an early walk-in since the closest ASC is a lil more than 2 hours away but I really wanted to avoid going there for when they scheduled my appointment (ON my due date lol) ....

We walked in, and they saw my giant pregnant belly and everyone was super nice. They send me right to the department and everything was done and over literally within 10 minutes :)

Just to let people know why others photocopy the entire package you send to USCIS; Our whole packet was returned to us on Monday 17th June, nearly 2 and a half weeks after submitting it, we went through our packet to ensure completeness and every box was filled in where necessary and copied it for our own records only to have it returned saying that page 2 of the I-751 was missing!!! WTH!!! We know it was in there because we checked and copied it all!

However, when it came back to us with a letter explaining why, we noticed it was in the order they wanted it, already hole punched and clipped together with a post it note stuck to it saying missing page 2 and some other writing such as admission date etc, etc.

It took us just 2 minutes to copy from our packet, page 2 of the I-751 and place it in the already clipped packet where it belongs.

I have placed a footnote to show this for others to see with date of return and have retained the original filing date! Not sure if you want to note this as an RFE? But its there for all to see our progress!

I have just noticed that the processing time has drastically decreased from 9 months to 6 months at CSC!!! They have removed the priority date from last week when it said Aug 25th and just states time frame in Months!!!
