In our case, I called the embassy who was in charge of our case. They said once the case was registered in their system I could call them and give them the new address. I called back every week until they confirmed our case was in the system and gave them the new address over the phone. If your embassy won't do that you can always call and ask how you should or could provide them with the new address and I'm sure they'd know what to tell you. Best of luck.

Also depending on your case if you are still dealing with the NVC they should be informed as well. In our case the beneficiary changed addresses not the petitioner. But the embassy should definitely be notified because at least in our case, they were responsible for sending all information to both the petitioner's and the beneficiary's addresses, and my Fiancé never received his info in Mexico, although this seems to be common due to Mexico's mailing system. Therefore I received everything in the U.S. Best of luck.

If you have the time, call them and get them to change it while you're waiting. That way you'll ensure it's done. You can also send in a change of address or do it online.

Side note: if your residential address changes, but the mailing address is the same - ie: a po box, it's not such a big deal.
