We also had a stupid RFE in our case. After our interview at the Islamabad Embassy, we received an email asking for additional information on our co-sponsor. They asked for additional tax transcripts , and also multiple print outs about our co-sponsors stock holdings. After I sent all the requested information, the embassy replied

" Thank you for sending the requested information, However we do not accept co-sponsors for K1 visa at this time"

That is so frustrating for you. i'm so confused now. We are about to finalise our forms. Should we be writing N/A even though it is only a tick box and none of them apply to us??

But it does ease my mind because a bunch of others in this thread (including me) answered no to #2 and were starting to think we'd get RFEs too. Not that it's any better for you, but maybe we can calm down a little!

Yes, that's what I had thought... That is a different story then. Just to make this clear again to others: If you answer "no" to question #2, you do not have to check anything in question #3. You can leave it blank. That is what we did, and we got approved without any RFE's.

He forgot to check no in question 2 if he was convicted etc so now they send only question #3 and I dont know what should we answer there are no boxes etc should he write : I was never convicted or just plain NONE or should he obtain a police certificate or such

Yes, I have been convicted of a crime related to theft with a former girlfriend, because we had possession of each others items. There was not any theft. Since it involved a girlfriend, it automatically becomes a domestic violence offence.

Regardless, question 3 is totally irrelevant to the situation, as neither of us suffered extreme cruelty or torture lol

If you responded yes to question #2, then you have to check one of the boxes in question 3. In your case, it would be the 3rd box. But I question why you answered yes to question #2. What you describe does not sound to me like domestic violence - but if your conviction states otherwise, then I guess you have to answer yes. You might consider adding a supplement with a typed description of the conviction.

Somewhere in the guides or example forms it states that for any question that does not apply to you, mark it N/A. It also states, do not leave anything blank It has been a reason for RFE's in the past, blanks that is. And to answer another question, yes, you can get more than one RFE. If they are not happy with the 1st RFE response, they can send another request for information. With that all said, do not panic because you might have answered a question wrong or left something blank ... you may or may NOT get a RFE. You will not know until you get a response from USCIS and if you do get a RFE, know that they are working on your case (that's a GOOD THING!) and that the next step is that much closer

It's a stupid RFE if you answered "NO" to question 2, but not a stupid RFE if you answered "YES" or leave it blank.

Regardless, it does not hurt to write N/A for question 3.

For part C, I typed N/A in the box for question #1. I checked the No box for question #2. I did not check any of the boxes in question #3. If you check No for question #2, then there is no need for any response to question #3.

Maybe he could he send the required information and attach a letter explaining the situation (that he forgot to check the #2 box, and state that he has no criminal offences). Anyone else who has any thoughts on that?
