I the USC will be sending AOS in the upcoming week. Currently i am unemployed since May. For 2012, and 2011 tax info is well over minimum requirements as for 2010 I was a full time student. My question is under these circumstances should I get a co- sponsor?
And if i file without one and am denied what actions are taken and how long will it take?

vj terminology to know

NOA = notice of action :P

ISO = immigration service officer

NBC = (same as MSC)national benefits center

RFE = request for evidence

From what I read on VJ, if you are currently unemployed you need to have a joint sponsor. Be sure to read the requirements more carefully on the website before you submit your papers or you will be delayed on your process.

You must have a joint sponsor since you are currently UNEMPLOYED and try to get a sponsor that can totally sponsor him alone with you and makes more than 130% not 125% because i have had the same issue and i was put in AP because of that.

Good luck

Yes, but she'll be the "joint sponsor". It will be HER I-864 in addition to yours and SHE will SIGN it.

Who fills out the form is not important, as long as the information is correct.

What will happen if you submit an affidavit of support for yourself only and clearly don't qualify, is NVC will tell you to submit an affidavit from a qualified joint sponsor. So, do it right the first time, to avoid delays.
