How do you know when your visa is ready?

my fiance lives in Santo Domingo, we paid $9.50 and made arrangements to pick it up (instead of having it delivered) my question is, how will we know when his passport is ready for pick up?

You can check it on the DOMEX website with the receipt number they gave you or call DOS and they can tell you as well.

Department of State issues visas. Call them at (202-663-1225).

Hey guys!

In my personal case, to our surprise yesterday my fiancé called to ask and they said its going to take 6 weeks to have my passport ready, because they had difficulties finding my medical results. The results had a mistake in my name and they said they must verify them now.

Does it really take 6 weeks? We are disappointed with this waiting time.

I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

Sorry to say it may take that time or longer. Sounds like you are now in the dreaded AP which is done anytime they need to look into your case about anything.

Guys! Reese! Today Tim called DOS and they said my visa was issued soon will be ready to pick it up!!!

God is so good! I can't say how much we prayed (my family, my friends).

DOMEX called him today, it was ready for pick up but he's not going to pick it up until Tuesday (Monday is a holiday) </3 he's not coming until June 29 :(

well now we agreed June 15 which suits me just fine b/c i'm a teacher & our last day is June 6 so i'll only have 9 days of total bordem. he wants to go visit family en el campo. I don't think its fair to ask him to come right away b/c he'll have to stay at home alone all day everyday while i work
