Hi,

I just received my I-797 Notice of Action letter today in the mail and I had a few questions.

#1 How long will it take for my fiance in Brazil to have her interview with the Consulate?

#2 We want to live together in the USA in Dec/Jan of 2014, what is the best way to make sure my fiance in Brazil will be able to come within that window of time? Note, can the 6 month extension for the fiance to come to the USA be extended? If so, how and who do I talk with?

#3 What in general should I expect now after receiving this I-797 NOA?

Thanks,

Darren

See the Brazil forum and member comments. You should be completed in plenty of time, 60-90 days to be finished. 6 month time is max. for the visa. You have 90 days to get married once she is in the US.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

The interview wait time in Brazil is one of the fastest at the moment, the average wait time once your petition gets to the consulate is 2 days for an interview. You will be able to bring her here in the adequate amount of time ithout the visa expiring. You are now in a waiting game if you look at my timeline you will see how long it took for my approval but on average right now its around 8-9 months wait for a approval.

...Seriously? That sounds like a problem. NVC got my case a little more than a week after NOA2, and sent it out two days after they got it. You might want to confirm where it is, and what happened.

I am from CSC also, and got NOA2 on April 11, which seems considerably later than you.

I have already contacted both USCIS and Nvc neither of which could tell me anything.
