Moved threads to Off topic

I don't know if this was Ewoks' thinking (or any of his "member.." moderators), but it makes a sort of sense to me. Many, many people use the New Posts tab and don't search through the forums at all. If you can move any ambiguously titled thread out of a "hot-spot" forum (ie: ME/NA), people won't be IN that forum without knowing it. For instance, if I see a post about Xmas on the New Posts pages, the LAST place I'm going to expect that post to be is in the MENA forum.

Why would you say this? There are more Christians and/or secular xmas celebrators in MENA than any other religion.

uh, no. I think any adult knows there are a) Christian Arabs, b ) there are people of mixed backgrounds marrying each other (hence the immigration site), and c) there are people who secularly celebrate xmas. This is not something that is a MENA secret we're keeping from people so ignorance can perpetuate. Give me a break.

This may be true - I have never done a tally. However, most are converts which means they come from Christian families.

I think it is a shame the Christmas threads were moved while Islam threads are always allowed to remain. It is stereotyping IMO. There are non-MENA Muslims in VJ. If Christianity is OT to the MENA forum, so is Islam. There is a Song of the Day Thread that has remained but the Christmas Song thread was moved.

When you girls get a really good mud-wrestling match going, it becomes entertainment. And as long as there are threads like that happening in MENA, some members are going to go there to watch.

OK, so I am guilty of "reading for entertainment" and try to stay out of participating in the mud-slinging or mud-wrestling matches. I do that in OFF TOPIC too when I find a really interesting topic there i.e. "why american men like foreign women" or "why american women marry foreign men" . . . or what about that topic in the IMBRA(???) about Mail Order brides. Although some if it is a bit funny . . there are times when I gotta decide I am not going back in a particular thread because it gets too brutal and mean . . . and I don't mean just ME/NA threads now. I have still to check out the Russian thread that someone mentioned awhile back . . . so I don't go everywhere anymore.

hmmmmm, maybe I should just concentrate on the Adjustment of Status topics from now on because that is the stage that we will be at soon . . . but it is sooooooooooo boring!!! So maybe I should just go clean house and cook some soup.

Again, why does any of this matter? My cancerous thyroid is cancer. Bickering in an online forum is bickering in an online forum. If that's not clear, let me say it so. Bickering in an online forum is NOT CANCER.

Why does any of it matter? Have any of your immigration questions gone unanswered?
