Moved threads to Off topic

MBP....I am often horrified in OT, but I don't request a moderator to ban those people. Some things said in OT on a daily basis might get you disappeared in some communities! But it's their business.

It seems to me that somehow MENA has been caught in a forum board conundrum. This forum is so active on a daily basis compared to other regions. Threads disintergrate (like all over the board) yet someow its perceived as a MENA problem and not a VJ problem. The problem is then further exaaggerated as non-MENA members come to either add fuel to the fire or post comments that perpertuate the MENA "reputation."

The myth of MENA is certainly bigger than the reality, but with so many complaints filed in poor Ewok's box what else is he suppose to think?

ME/NA Forum is very much a part of the immigration section of VJ. Off Topic is off topic, hence why certain threads have obviously been moved.......they are off topic and not specific to the ME/NA Forum.

just look in MENA people wishing to go to that forum to get help & info about that region would run a mile rather than stick around and get the ###### treatment from the usual crowd that hang out there...

How do you "look in" and find peoople who "wish" to go in there? This sounds like hyperbole to me. You are saying people have not gotten help, point to the posts that refused help.

Ironically, Sarah and Hicham has probably helped the most people in the MENA forum yet she takes the most slack for being outspoken. A lot of the people complaining about the bickering are not the ones answering the requests for help in the forum.

This is absoltuely the truth. Funny how perceptions distort the reality

No it isn't. It is under General Discussion Area, the same section OT is under. The Immigration forums are separate.

you obviously approve of the way some people have chosen to behave on VJ and therefore there is no point in having this discussion.... it just seams that some are out to cause the max amount of disruption...

Like it or not, there is a perception by many people that some of these MENA relationships are fraudulent.

Hence, when the bickering commences, especially about religion or cultural differences....well it's my opinion that the bickering MENA members almost open themselves up for ridicule. The bizarre arguments allow for that 'petri dish' phenomenon wherein the doubters and those looking for entertainment will come in just to watch the fray.

there is too many threads where someone asks for help or information and by the 2nd page it has been turned into a free for all and the OP is left wondering ####### is that all about.....

I think the best comment is that "they were moved because they were moved". There have been many topics in there that were completely arguments page after page. From this side the forum with the highest % of complaints is that forum. Five of the last six people suspended on this site were for posts in that forum and they also spent most their time posting in that forum in general. Whatever the reason, everyone should try to promote a better atmosphere in that forum as today alone I had 24 reported threads from there (5 from other forums).

I think this to a great extent is true and part of the problem. Many NA/ME members are blunt or have very unpleasant forum board attitudes. Many are also too sensitive and can not or will not allow these upsetting comments to pass. bad combination.

I was serious. We can tallk all day about whats wrong with this forum, I think its better to talk about solutions.
