I called NVC and they informed me that it was sent to Embassy on 4/26/13, so i would like to know how long before Embassy actually receives it and is the case number and receipt number the same?

thanks in advance for all responses

I'm not entirely sure about the visa fees. I called NVC and they told me our case had been sent to the embassy and they gave me a case number at that time. It was different from the receipt number we used w/immigration. I also received a letter from NVC about a week later confirming that my file had been sent and the new case number.

The interview fee is $240 and the visa fee is $15. You have to pay the interview fee before the interview, and the visa fee once the visa is issued at the interview or when you pick up your packet at Haiti Messager.

You can expect the Embassy to receive it in 6-10 days. But today, May 1 is a holiday there, so it doesn't count as a business day. And you can probably count tomorrow as a holiday too just because not every business will open... The case number is different from your receipt number... You will need to contact the NVC again to get that because you will need that to contact the Embassy.

The Embassy does not know anything about receipt number from the two notices -- it's all USCIS. To contact them via phone or email, you will need the Case Number (found in your NVC letter--if already received.)

PS--Next time start a new topic thread with a new question because I only noticed your questions when I accidentally clicked on this topic...
