Hi everyone,

I know there has been a lot going around about extremely long processing times for K1 but I have never seen anyone waiting a year!!! We have filed 23/july 2012 and have just received an RFE which turns out might have just been a computer glitch according to our lawyer???? The lawyer now says to us that she doesn't expect us to have an interview until June/July 2013 which would make it a year???? I saw a popular post the other day about a long account of steps with which someone succeeded in speeding up this process but I cannot find it anymore and don't remember the title :-( We have written to all congressmen/women we can think of, white house, have several service requests opened.... nothing. Does anybody have any advice at all? THANK YOU!

Until you get the RFE and address it (why does the lawyer think computer glitch? Good grief) there is nothing you can do but wait for that and hopefully the RFE gets processed fast.

Gosh hate to think your lawyer got you in this long wait.

Also you figure from NOA2 to interview a good 2 to 3 months depending on embassy so yep June/July doesn't seem likely. Here's hoping its a easy RFE (I see refund). Sorry

:time: you can do so by selecting your name in the upper right corner then go to timeline add/edit. From there VJ will guide you. If you look at igors list you will see that some july filers are still waiting on noa2 including one at Vermont that recently got an RFE. You could try filing a service request, but I would wait a bit to see if an RFE does arrive. I d o not know why your lawyer would think it is a glitch.

Hi take a few moments to fill out your timeline. It can be very helpful.

I doubt very much that it will be a computer glitch. Hopefully it will be something easy. Somebody said that if the RFE was not needed because it was an error on the service centre's part then you can send a letter saying so and asking for it to be processed faster. If it is an error on your part then you will have to wait.

Hi Janette,

I think July for the interview sounds realistic if your RFE is a minor one and can be resolved quickly.

Once you sent in the requested documents, you should have your NOA2 within a few weeks.

I don´t think there is any use contacting any congressmen at this point. The major wait is over and was only due to the delays at California Service Center (which you won´t have to deal with anymore once you received the NOA2).

Luckily, Frankfurt is supposed to be one of the quicker consulates compared to other countries. That part should be done within 6-8 weeks upon receipt of your case.

Viel Glück!
