Score 1 for Thailand, 0 for Karee B-)

Thailand likes to brag that they're the only country in SE Asia which has never been coloniz(s)ed. While true, the sure picked up alot of bad habits from the British. Spelling wrong and driving on the wrong side of the road are two that I can think of. Ohh, and gambling on Soccer (Football).

Gaol is the British spelling, yeah.

If spelling (and measurements) could be standardised/standardized, it would be really great.

Most of East Asia seems to be quite good on not legislating based on religious beliefs. Specifically, the parts I've been to (Japan, Mongolia).

My mistake. For this argument I was referring to modern day Christianity in the United States. There's a direct correlation to how able on is to think outside their religion, to how much one either identifies themselves by said religion or uses it to get elected.

Traditionally, that's true, but I think that with the newer generations, an Atheist could very well gain support among the progressive people. I would be overjoyed to have an Atheist running, personally.

i don't think so. not yet..

Let me put it this way. I have seen nothing good in every candidate for president so far. So I have never voted. There are many people like me, I think. An Athiest candidate would appeal to me to the point where I would want to do whatever I could to get the candidate elected (provided this candidate had an opinion about issues that I agreed with.)

Personally, though, I'd like to live in either a communist society or a rule-less anarchy society. Ironically, Mongolia was once the former, and is now the latter :P

i mean, it's optimistic of you, but it isn't reality. america is still very, very religious.

so are you going to move to a commune or what? with your views on things why do you want to live in the u.s.? (i'm not telling you to get out - i'm asking)

No joke. Point out the last state of the union that didn't mention God.

The short answer is, for my future step-kids' futures. I love them enough to die for them, and I think that, although the U.S. doesn't have the best educational system in the world, its educational system is recognized world-wide, and it gives them the best chance at success in the future. I also want for my parents and siblings to be a part of our lives.

If I didn't have (future) (step)kids, I wouldn't be in the U.S. I'd be off volunteering abroad.

i don't really watch those sorts of things. i'd rather read highlights later. and the highlights are never god.

Japan attacked us, we fought back. No problem with that. We have drones bomb Pakistan. When did Pakistan attack us? we have drones bomb Yemen. When did Yemen attack us?

So killing innocents is ok if they are from a nation that attacked us directly? So the US should have been condemned for their participation in Europe during WWII? Lots of civilians died there.
