Since I have taken a trip that lasted 1yr and 6mons outside US, what evidence do I need to present along with my N400 application that me and my family "continued to work, live, or keep ties to US? I was 21 back then and was still in school. Do I need to send my mom's Taxes stating I was her dependent?

Thanks!

I am afraid you have abandoned your LPR if you did not get a reentry permit.

If you did not, There is a process with forms and interview. Checkout the following link.

Sorry, I forgot to mention I got a reentry permit and I am applying for the 4yrs 1day rule. I just want to know the evidence that I need to submit that I kept my ties to the US when I stayed for over a year outside US.

good.

In that case, yes parents tax returns showing you as a dependent for that period but that should be at the interview.

From the little looking I have done, Make sure you apply AFTER 4 years and a day. 1 day early would cause denial. you might include a copy of the reentry permit with the application and a cover letter explaining your application under the 4yr,1 day rule with travel dates.

The only way which I think you can convince the IO that you didn't abandon your residency is showing that you are attending school, you need to bring your transcripts, and anything ties you to the States

Thanks! I came back on april 27,2009 and I am planning to send my application on april 29. So I don't need to send them a copy of my mom's taxes because it's asking me for evidence? Is sending a copy of my reentry enough you think? I don't want to screw this up because I am on the process of petitioning my husband too. :)
