H1B to L1 Dilemma

I am currently working in India with company XX. Recently my H1B visa has been approved by another company YY in US. In the meantime, my current employer has offered to internally transfer me to US on L1 visa.

* I am now confused so as to which offer is better suited for me.

* I was curious if it is legally possible to continue working for my current company XX in India(remotely) alongside the job offered by my H1B sponsors as the payrolls are running in different companies.

* Can i switch over from the H1 to L1 later on.

P.S. Current employer is a very reputed US company and H1B sponsor is a small company which provides resources for Bodyshopping.

- Which offer is better depends on which company you prefer, since the visas aren't so different that the visa type should control your decision.

- It will depend on both US and Indian law and on your contract. Bear in mind that many full-time employment contracts have a clause that requires you to get company approval to do work for someone else at the same time.

- It depends. The L1 visa is for intra-company transfers only, and requires you to have worked for a foreign part of the company for at least one year in the last three. So, according to that rule alone, you could transfer to L1 with your current company some time in the first two years, but that doesn't sound like a very useful option.
