You will need to have it translated by a translation company generally if you want to use it to get jobs in the USA.

It depends upon the degree and intended field of employment. However, employers and universities do not accept a degree from another country if it is needed to be licensed.

Then it would be up to the employer which organization they would use.

And to what extent they take cognizance.

I have noticed that IT for example are more accepting of foreign qualifications.

My husband successfully got a job and used his Master's degree which he obtained at a University in Pakistan. Be sure to have all the transcripts along with the degree certificate and a point of contact that they can call to verify it.

You may also be required to validate it through and accredidation company that will do so for a fee. Some companies require this and some don't. It really depends on the company and thier policies. Also, some that have gotten their degrees accredited have found that a Master's degree from Pakistan is equivalent to a Bachelor's in the U.S.

It will sometimes be considered a Masters, sometimes considered a Bachelor's degree and sometimes the University or Employer will make you take some test or evaluation to see what your exact knowledge is .

So it really just depends what your situation is .

UNLESS it's in a Natuaral Science or IT area possibly...90% of foreign degrees are not equivalent to a U.S. degree...the good news is that it's a graduate degree and hopefully Spantran or another evaluation company will at least decide it's eqiuvalent to a U.S. BACHELORS degree....I just saw a woman that was a Dentist in Mexico her educational experience equated to an Associates degree. If your transcripts are in a foreign language you need to have then translated...I have never heard of a US company calling overseas to verify a degree usually Spantran does this

I'm currently employed at HCC and University of Houston...a master's in Nursing probably would not be equal to a Master's in Nursing here in the US...typically health and medical degrees are not equivalent... natural sciences such as chemistry, biology and math usually are equivalent...one explanation is that our educational systems don't operate the same...an example would be a Russian student I recently spoke to. In her country a part of her High School Education is refered to as "college" but the evaluators determined that it was equal to what we learn in High School in America...high school only goes up to the 9th grade in her country...after that she attended a "university" which only yielded her 12 credits TOWARDS a bachelors degree program. I've seen only two advanced degrees from overseas treated as equivalent; A petro engineer from Australia had his degree transfered right over and a a Master's degree in Math from China
