I can't tell you all how heartening this is to hear. Everyone keeps telling me I'm crazy marrying a woman 25 years younger than me, and I tell him that age doesn't matter, it's what you feel in your heart. Thank you all for proving that I'm right. I'm getting no support for my relationship at all from people I know and love (except for my girl of course) so at least I can come somewhere where I can see in action what I know in my heart to be true. :)

18 Years apart in age and two years into living our "Happily Ever After".

We were CR-1, it went smooth as silk and we filed for removal of conditions this week.

Age is meaningless in the immigration process for the most part unless the age difference between the petitioner and beneficiary would be considered a taboo in the beneficiary's native country. Those situations will likely result in escalated scrutiny of the couples evidence.

MBT

Very, very happy to see someone else from Mongolia go through the process, and describe it as smooth. If my fiancee's interview goes smoothly, my insomnia will be cured.

My fiancée and I are 27 years apart. The age difference is not a big deal in her home county (Philippines), but it raises eyebrows here in the U.S. My kids from my first marriage are not at all accepting of our relationship. My fiancée is 3 days younger than my daughter.

No, they just have my word on it. I know they would love her if they met her, but it's not possible right now. When all this is said and done, they'll see how wrong they were. Until then, I can get support here. :)

I totally know how you feel on this. Going similar sentiments here too on my side.

The problem is not getting approved from USCIS with an age difference, the problem would be at the consulate and more so with K1's than CR1's.

Older men and younger women not as much of a red flag as older women and younger men. Sexist, but true.

It is also embassy specific and culturally viewed by the interviewing CO.

It is not a "one size wear all."

Different strokes for different folks and different assumptions and speculations by different consulates, especially in high fraud countries.

Age difference should not matter but unfortunately it sometimes does.

Wow and I thought 12 years difference was a lot before I met my Fiance in person ;) It turned out we get along so well it doesn't matter at all.

So I understand finding one's soul mate in a person that's far away from our own age, but on the other hand... don't you folks fear the future a little? (the question is for those who are in love with the older person)

8-12 years difference is fine within all standards. Especially when man is older since we age differently. 20+ not so much.

I might be dubious, but I would at least give it a chance and hope for the best. As I say to my kids, I don't always agree with every lifestyle choice you make, but I leave it to you to decide what's best for you. I am much more of a live-and-let-live person than my kids are - they are more judgmental - a trait passed on from their mother's side of the family (haha!). :P

I just hope everything goes smoothly with the I-129F and the interview. I'm not sure yet whether I will be able to attend - not much vacation time left (I'm going to visit my fiancee for 2 weeks at the end of May), and I also need to save some time to travel back to Philippines to accompany my fiancee and her two kids on their trip to the US once they have their visas.
