if we send whatever evidence they want, then will the case immediately be approved?

how long does it take?

Not necessarily, and no-one knows for sure. It could take many more months.

Many more months?!! But why???

What would they be doing during those "months"?

When you got the RFE you went into a different stack, you're in the "we already looked at it now we wait for a reply and then we'll get back to it eventually" pile.

Hopefully you get a good officer that will process it as soon as they get the info, sometimes though, depending on how big their stacks are, it could mean you're waiting a while for them to get back to you. In the meantime their stats are fine because THEY already processed you, the delay from the RFE will be categorised as your fault, not theirs, and therefore doesn't affect their timeline estimates.. that satisfies their bosses.

Well i live in california, Should i get the RFE pretty soon in the mail from CSC?

I was searching the RFE posts today since I also got an RFE. The petitioners in California seem to get it within 3-4 days of mailing but some said it took them 3-4 business days to mail, so don't be suprised if you get a second notice with an RFE date in a few days, that's just the notice of mailing.

I followed the VJ guidelines, but still got an RFE, hope it's an easy fix.

I got 2 notifications via both text and email to each one. Does that mean they already mailed it out?

I just got 2 more notifications for RFE

I don't think USCIS has a separate notice to say "We are sending an RFE" from that of "An RFE was sent". Hopefully the first two was notice to inform you, and the recent two was to inform you that your RFE was mailed. Since you are in California, you should get it soon. Keep us updated and good luck with the RFEs!

You're most likely going to get ONE RFE in the mail. Read what it says and respond accordingly. If you have questions about what they may want, ask people on VJ after you have it in hand so people can advise based on what it says. As for processing time after you send it in....... no one really knows. Ours was like 2 weeks after they received our response. Some are longer.......some are less.
