Once we have the decision from the court do we also need a CENOMAR? Suppose to have decision April 29th!

Thank you for your response. I will hold back on my feelings as the ridiculousness is amazing in it all! Three years to get to this point but still not there!

My wife also had a nullity of marriage, we had to send the Advisory on Marriages (CEMAR) from NSO and also the Annotated Certificate of Marriage from NSO of her first marriage showing it was annulled to NVC and such.

It takes a while for those court documents after a court decision to get to the local civil registrar to certify them and then sent to the NSO and for the NSO to get that information in their system in order to issue the results on the Advisory on Marriages and the annotation on the Certificate of Marriage for her annulled marriage.

Thank you for the reply. Very concise and correct.

It's my understanding that the Philippines is the only country which does not allow divorce. Ridiculous!

The annulment process is a rip off.

Sir I could go one and on about immigration policy and the red tape Filipinos have to live with. I guess this isn't the place for it.

Thank you for understanding. Too bad you live on the left coast would be cool to get together.

Things are not going well for us. We thought being at this point would be a relief seems to be more questions than answers. We now have a copy of the disillusionment from the courts. Now the process begins to get the next two documents. My lady's concern is she has to change back to her maiden name for NBI, Police reports from countries she has worked in, etc, before we can file. She will not take the word of others on this forum, or me. She wants it from a US government doc or official. I haven't seen anything on the forms we fill out that says it would be OK. I know the forms ask for maiden name and ex name. Ideas?

She does not have to change her name. The forms for the visa process are all self explanatory. Thousands of people in her shoes have successfully completed the visa process without changing their name back to their maiden name.
